Reading on website sometimes doesn't have separators at scene changes?

I'm not sure if this is because there wasn't a separator to start with, but for example, from smartphone: https://i.imgur.com/5W4Mrf5.png
It jumps from "decided to worry about it later." to the next scene instantly, which is really jarring and took me a moment to figure out what was going on.
There's several spots where scene changes like that happen with no marking or sign, so I was wondering if it was just the website reader that was missing it or something.
