My Contract with the Apothecary Monster (Suggestion for J-Novel Club Heart)

@mariechan_hime
I should add that the only case I'm aware of where a series changed Japanese publishers and there's an English license...the licensed TL was already ongoing with the original publisher, so it was merely following the title to the new publisher rather than initiating negotiations with both Japanese publishers after the fact.Technically it wouldn't be impossible, but lay in a goodly supply of copium, ya dig?

Don’t lose hope. It doesn‘t automatically mean it can‘t or won‘t ever get licensed. Maybe it‘s just not the right novel for J-Novel Club and another publisher will pick it up. I can imagine that Tokyopop will license it, if the manga sells well, or even Seven Seas Entertainment.

Thought I might add the covers of volume 2 and 3 from TO Books:

Maybe it's a bit far-fetched, but if the manga from Tokyopop sells well, the chances for the novel should also increase. Just a thought.
In any case, I could really imagine the series as an anime. Can a novel/manga ever get an anime adaptation if the original author has already passed away? I don't know much about this.
