"And you can read the latest chapters of series like this by becoming a
      J-Novel Club Member:"
This is what is written on the last page of the LN so i subscribed to J-Novel but i can't seem to find new chapters, just the volumes (that are also paywalled) so what's up?

@Nawaf-Beday-0b3qrmj that's how they refer to their ongoing translations. Unfortunately Conqueror is caught up to the Japanese release, so there is no latest chapters for them to translate until Japan publishes another volume.

The subscription gets you newly translated parts and whatever is on catchup. It doesn't provide access to everything in the back catalog. If you want to read those on the website, you'd have to buy the premium DRM-free ebooks. According to the forum thread that lists bonus content, Chivalry of a Failed Knight appears to have bonus high resolution images, but no bonus stories.

If you are only interested in the one series, it may make sense to cancel your subscription and preorder the next volume when that becomes available, then read the newly translated parts as they come out.

A J-Novel subscription was counterintuitive to me at first, but once I got used to it, it turns out I like it a lot. I've been introduced to a lot of things I enjoyed reading through it.

Edit: I'm not sure which series you meant, but if you did mean The Conqueror From a Dying Kingdom, it does have bonus stories. Maybe that would change the trade-offs as to whether buying the premium ebooks directly from J-Novel Club is worth it to you.

@strangeattractor it is worth noting that you probably don't really want to read books you have purchased through the website, the version accessible on the web reader is the last update before the volume is officially published, it contains any errors that were fixed in later updates to the epub and doesn't contain any of the published volume exclusive content, which usually at least includes some color illustrations. The epub version is the better version to be reading.
