[PLEASE READ] - Issues after extended Maintenance

I noticed that that new manga I read are actually properly getting marked as read in the Android app. Manga I read yesterday is not getting marked as read even if I go back and read it again to try to mark it. Must be something in the individual entries that broke it before and that still has to be corrected in the older stuff?
-
These might be related to this, or they might just be a coincidence of bad data data entry, so while I've already posted them in their respective corrections threads I'll post them here too:
Bookworm SS2 is still not on the calendar.A Wild Last Boss manga v4c1 is giving me an Error 9500 (Edit: This looks like some sort of CORS issue, still trying to diagnose it)(Some weird issue specific to me)- Chillin in Another World v16p7 is simply 404, and on its series page hovering over the Part 7 button shows Part 8 will be releasing on 2024-10-30, and similar for Part 8 and Part 9 (with no Part 10 (except in the tooltip for Part 9) for this typically evenly parted series)

@Rahul-Balaggan
I did as you suggested with the reinstalled app and it actually worked! Thank you!
However, even the account page shows the 404-girl. Still. I could log out via that door symbol on top of the screen. -

I see the pre-pubs on Mondays@14:00 on the JNC release calendar page, and the ebook publishing of the book out in late-January. The first pre-pub was listed before it came out, as that was how I saw the parts-count that I added to my pre-pub reading/tracking text file. Is there another calendar that I’m missing?
-
Looks like all the reading history has now been ported, including the manga. All my reading progress back to when Jnovel opened is now visible.
-
@Ingraman ....Why yes, yes there is, the one I wrote for myself using https://api.j-novel.club/api/events. I bet that backend isn't being updated anymore. N/m (Edit: and hasn't been for weeks at least, oops)
-
@Gamen yeah, the downtime was killing off the old api. It doesn't look like chocolatkey has done the api v2 update they said they would yet (presumably because of lingering issues taking priority) https://forums.j-novel.club/post/374895
-
@GeorgeMTO Ahh, thank you for pointing me to that. Still, might not bother fixing my own calendar. I don't even remember what the me of 3 years ago had against the real one, so I'll probably use it for a while at least.

Hi - just want to make sure I understand going forward as I am someone who has never used the app… So, from now on, only reading progress will be tracked in the app? Correct?
I frequently read from my laptop (in a browser) as I only have a small screen on my older phone (even with tiny font still have to change pages about 3-4x/minute), so I will need to adjust and keep track in other ways…This seems to be back to normal now! Only things that I read in the last week or two are missing the %read status, which I could easily page through to mark them again. Thanks to everyone who has been working through these maintenance issues!
-
Currently all the latest volumes of manga in pre-pubs list their expiration date as the date of publication instead of the 15th (or 14th that some manga had). Is this an issue or a change in the policy of when manga expire? Thanks!
-
Is it an already known issue that followed series don't show up properly in the calendar tab? Many volumes are not highlighted as followed even though I follow the series.

Hello JNC Staff,
Once full-service has been restored, will there be any adjustments to timetables in terms of book release dates, or extending the time that regular and premium members have access to pre-published book parts, especially those that expire tomorrow? If not, would it be possible for regular and premium members to receive some number of free week long book rentals so we can catch up on what we missed that way? Thank you for your consideration. My post from ten days ago did not receive a response. I understand that the JNC Staff are working hard to restore services to a fully operational level. In the meantime, I believe it would be helpful for JNC customers if you provide a roadmap describing how JNC is prioritizing the outstanding issues. Further, is JNC open to a dialogue regarding what, if any, compensation will be available to regular and premium members due to paid services being wholly or partially unavailable for a time? Thank you again for your consideration.
-
I am unable to mark any manga as read that was published between October 11 and October 17. Anything newer and anything older works fine though.

I want to echo this question to show that you aren't alone in your thoughts. Paying customers were unable to access the service which they paid for either in whole or in part for 2 weeks. While the downtime issues are understandable, it is not unreasonable for us to expect compensation. Quite frankly, the fact that JNC hasn't offered this compensation on their own is baffling to me. These are issues that were caused by JNC, and while I will not assign any blame, it is their responsibility as service providers to address the needs of their customers.

Many manga chapters aren’t getting progress indicators, it some are. Yesterday’s Bookworm chapter turned green for me after reading it. I’ll Never Set Foot v6c1, Wild Last Boss v4c1 and Emperor’s Lady-in-Waiting v5c1 did the same. Hmm… Those were all first chapters for their books. /scrolls down the app some more… Ah, yes. Frontier Lord v6c5 also got marked green on the iOS app.
Those aside, many chapters haven’t seen any blue or green bars.

Heyo, there's an issue with Volume 1, Part 4 of "Full Clearing Another World under a Goddess with Zero Believers".
When going to the part, it will allow you to rent it, then auto skip to the end screen with back/next.

@Michael-Hutchings-sxn4zb0 This should be fixed now! We're so sorry for the inconvenience.
