@terrence I will not be tricked, I see that you do not even have the guts to look at your kin being sacrificed DISGUSTING! at least have the guts to look at it happening, even if you would look down at it. I will do something crazy for it seems my

Your nonsense is cute.
Can I add "girls with moustaches" to my positive manga / LN buzzword list?

@oathkeeper95 I am playing Favourites! I need to, @Terrence is too strong for you to handle by yourself! You need FRIENDSHIP if you are to defeat him!

Comedy is probably the only almost guaranteed tag for me. I do like harem or love triangle stuff (cause it is 90% of the time connected to comedy) but I'm pretty burnt out on it.
-
@terrence She's a dwarf. Perfectly normal.

I’ll try most anything but do enjoy comedy and high fantasy. I don’t really binge read though and lately prefer alternating between volume 1’s of a series I’ve read and every other read is a later volume of a series I’ve started. I’m only up to 6 on Rokujouma and I really like that series so not so much with the binge.
-
Comedy > Fantasy | Sci-Fi > Mind Games
I love them good comedy. I can nearly dig any kind but the more sarcasm the better. Having one of the following genres with that even better.
But I also like serious stuff. I also like series that are so bad and over cliche that it hurts (I would really love ore twintails :D ).
-
@qeeh I know it’s probably just an error of typing, but when I read ‘ore twintails’, my mind for some reason began to think of a young humanoid golem with minerals growing out of her head like two long ponytails...
And now I have another idea on something to put into my story... Maybe I could have it be the result of an experiment to increase the amount of materials golems can produce, but then again since the story I want to write is about an Earth where the creatures of Fantasy and the Human race swapped places complete with actual problems in our world, so maybe I won’t use that until a later point... Maybe the protagonist could be the one to recommend such an idea...Anyways, I should really look for a site to put my series up for a test drive so to speak... A story is only so good as long as the creator has feedback yeah?

These topics are really enlightening. We are all so different in our likes / dislikes. I hope that's a good sign for the diversity of our titles going forward. =D
When I did the poll for which Light Novel genre is your favorite, Comedy won over Isekai. I know JNC's survey they did find Isekai as the winner, but at least on these forums, I'm not surprised comedy is again a popular choice for positive buzzwords. I'm really glad comedy and SOL haven't been forgotten (and hopefully won't be anytime soon).
-
@terrence Oh right! I do find Slice-o-Life to be a good genre, but it kinda depends on the other tags around it. For My Daughter for instance brought it together with a Fantasy setting. Brilliant in my opinion...
Come to think of it, I guess I could also say I’m a fan of series of ‘contraries’. Like with GATE which for some reason is still not translated into English but I digress. In regards to series of Isekai where the protagonist just makes a gun in a world without them without considering the consequences (much like the Smartphone anime which is why I’m glad LN Touya isn’t as much an idiot), GATE is almost unique in comparison by builging itself up aroundthe culture clash right? The Contrary nature between Japan and... whatever world the GATE linked it with just makes me wonder why we don’t see more series like this... Maybe one day there will actually be a story about an Elf from an older time period or something trapped in our world... Who can really say? -
@oathkeeper95 it wasn't a typo. It's cool you get some ideas of it so it was worth writing. I was talking about ore twintails ni narimasu which is a comedy with semi sentai squad and monster of the week. There is also an anime with an english disc release which was hilariously dumb.
-
@qeeh that one was so dumb it was great xD I'd certainly read the LNs if someone were translate them winkplzJNCwink
-
@paulnamida I actually put that in the jnc survey ;)
-
@qeeh There’s a survey?

I think it's closed. There was a few months back.
Iirc, they took 5 license requests per user. Classroom of the Elite was the most popular selection.

@terrence Oh... Was GATE in there somewhere?

I didn't vote for it. The survey let you put whatever you wanted in the box. I went with my boring standbys (Shiki, Shin Sekai No Yori, and Sakurako-san's Investigation). xC
Bookwalker has a general suggestion box, and Seven Seas posts a survey monthly with 3 spaces to write in license requests if you are itching to request stuff.
I need to read up more on the JSDF GATE, can't quite get my head around it, but it seems a bit controversial in terms of its presentation of military.

I watched a bit of the show, and didn't like how one of the major female love interests was
I'd be all for "The New Gate" though.

It's a good time to be me because isekai is my favorite tag. It has my attention even more if it has the Comedy tag. Far Away Paladin is great, but I enjoy the light hearted stuff just a bit more.
As a note though, I can get into a story a lot more if it's from first person. Not sure why, maybe just one of my quirks.
