Out with the old, in with the new! Let's kick 2025 off by escaping from the past and embracing change!
Lettie has been engaged to the crown prince since she was 7, but her biggest wish is "I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons"! Can she regain her freedom after the prince escorts an unknown girl to a royal ball? Check out the anime airing this season as well!
Chelsea has been abused by her mother and twin sister all her life. When she's revealed to have a unique skill, she's quickly whisked away from her home to a life of luxury and bliss. So Chelsea swears to herself, "I'll Never Set Foot in That House Again!"
Escaping life situations is great, but what about escaping your own life as you know it? A group of teenagers find themselves inhabiting each others' bodies in an inexplicable supernatural event. However, walking a mile in someone else's shoes also means learning things they don't want you to know. Can they figure out a solution before their relationships are irreparably damaged? Find out in Kokoro Connect!
Estelle can read people's emotions through their mana, and she's not a fan. After her fiancé falls for another woman, she meets Prince Arcrayne, who acts like he's fallen for her but clearly has ulterior motives, but everyone else has been fooled. As the two continue to put on a show for the public, will their performance evolve into something more? Check out Fiancée No More: The Forsaken Lady, the Prince, and Their Make-Believe Love today!
Finally, Kazuhiro is an ordinary office worker who has had vivid, lucid dreams of adventuring in a fantasy world ever since he was a child. In his latest dream, he shields his friend, an elf named Marie, from certain death... and wakes up in his bed with Marie under the covers with him. Thrilled that his dreams are real, what can he say but "Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!" If you like this manga adaptation, check out the anime too!
We look forward to spending another year with our members and hope you enjoy this month's catchup selection!

I'll be trying Fiancée No More and I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons since I missed them when they were first out.
I'll Never Set Foot in That House Again! starts out sad then sweet, but after volume 2 or 3 it seemed to be heading into disturbing older man - young girl territory and I wandered away. I might give the later volumes another chance.
I haven't read the Ms. Elf manga but the LN is sweet and fun.

Of these series, the one I have enjoyed the most is Kokoro Connect. Bizarre situations with high school students switching consciousness with each other is not my favourite topic, but the writing is decent.
Second place goes to Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf. I like the scenes in Japan, but they keep going back to the fantasy world the elf came from, and I got bored with those scenes.

The dream world side picks up quite a bit as the series progresses, especially after a certain mother is added to the cast.

@HarmlessDave I’m glad for the heads up. The 18 year old “in love” with a 13 year old who small for her age at the end of volume 2 already has me cringing. Can’t even use the “it was a different time” bs, b/c he’s a reincarnator.

That I'll Never Set Foot is listed as 6+ has me waiting in anticipation for the next volume to appear soon.
