Where are the new titles at?

When are we getting more new light novel series?
rant below:
I've been waiting for some new light novel series to pop up as these, 'I reincarnated in a new world and married my shoe', get old before the 5th novel. I thought a good trend was starting with, 'prison life is easy for a villainess', because IT ACTUALLY ENDED in 2 VOLUMES instead of falling off in quality over god knows how many volumes until it gets cancelled. Forgive me for saying this but I'd rather have more content than seeing series continue where the writer obviously ran out of ideas volumes ago like, 'My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!', and 'Isekai Tensei: Recruited to Another World.' -
JNC said their next licensing announcement will be roughly February.

@GeorgeMTO Neato, hopefully some decent novels make it our way.

I have a morbid curiosity to read this series now…or at least the first volume
-
@Lily-Garden It is mildly depressing that I couldn't be 100% sure at a glance if that was a parody title...
-
@kuali Blame J-club for picking up so many unoriginal isekai series. How many novels do we have with villainess in the name now?
-
@Canyoukillmenow shrug JNC are hardly the only translators in the business, or the only ones picking up Isekais. It just happens to be that there are a lot of them getting published back in Japan - the typical LN these days starts out life as amateur fanfiction of a recently popular series with the old cast replaced with OCs and the flavor of animal ears on each member of the supporting cast randomised - and since the derivative works are a large portion of what's available to license, they're also a large portion of what gets licensed.
There's not much anyone can do but wait out the boom and pick at any that seem to stand out from the crowd enough to be interesting. But even then, we'll probably just end up with a glut in a different genre. The majority of media will always be average, after all, and there's going to be as much trash as treasure no matter which genre's in the ascendancy.
But for JNC, the answer would be:
- From Villainess to Healer: I Know the Cheat to Change My Fate
- Stuck in a Time Loop: When All Else Fails, Be a Villainess
- From Two-Bit Baddie to Total Heartthrob: This Villainess Will Cross-Dress to Impress!
- Goodbye Overtime! This Reincarnated Villainess Is Living for Her New Big Brother
- RVing My Way into Exile with My Beloved Cat: This Villainess Is Trippin'
- Forget Being the Villainess, I Want to Be an Adventurer!
- Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord
- Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte
- Grand Sumo Villainess
- Prison Life is Easy for a Villainess
- Villainess: Reloaded! Blowing Away Bad Ends with Modern Weapons
- My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!
(Combined list of LNs and Manga)
-
@kuali Wait, only 12? I was sure that there were at least 20. Perhaps, I was thinking of other publishers and/or anime?
-
@saidahgilbert If you search for 'Villainess' on the series list there are 22 matches, though some of these series appear twice (Manga and LN versions), and some of the matches are tagged 'villainess', but don't have it in the title (like Young Lady Albert Is Courting Disaster and The 100th Time's the Charm). And yes, there are a bunch of non-JNC ones, too.
-
@kuali as mentioned, these are in the Isekai Villainess Otome Game list too:
- Lady Rose Just Wants to be a Commoner
- Lady Albert is Courting Disaster
