Following a Series? What's the point?

Can someone please tell me how to find series I've followed or is it supposed to somehow connect to and RSS feed? I don't know how many series I've done this with and I'm still unable to find anything about where that information is even saved on my profile. It doesn't even have a wishlist feature.
Is this just a bogus feature?
I also have no idea how the RSS feed thing is suppoed to work. I thought this might be the replacement for following, even with offering that option. I've tried to set it up a few time and got no where or I was misunderstanding how it was actually meant to send updates.
Can someone please help? Add a link to the form post on where the follow feature is added or saved. Maybe how the RSS should be set up and how it will look when done properly?
Or if I should just not waste my time and just use bookmarks?

When you look at the series list or the calendar, there's an option in the filters to show only series you follow.
