As you can imagine from the unusual title, the story's pretty unusual too—a rare sci-fi that isn't quite what it seems, a story narratively analogous to rebuild world yet nonetheless nothing like it. Dimensionally multifarious, this is Elpis at the end of Frame, illustrated by toi8 of Conqueror fame (S rank daughter, the 'crest of din', 再現使いは帰りたい, among others ) penned by 文芸 veteran オキシタケヒコ.
Really, it's something... among the very few true blood sci-fi stuff whose breadth and scope is steadily being realized all the way to end—

The Chain of Killings, Causality, and Possession—
Since ancient times, these entities have been called "Oni" or "Demons." They are manifestations of lethal intent, programs designed for human extinction, sent from the other side of the dimensional veil. Japan's dark underbelly, known as the "Monbu," is a covert organization that has fought against these beings using advanced, modified eyeballs called "Tenyan," which project invisible entities onto the retina, and a supernatural coffin called the "Tomei Field," which can halt time.
