Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers - Trauma Bonding?
-
First: I really thought I would not return to J-Novel. Apologies before hand for my return. It is just that, a lot of the cartoons I like are from light novels that J-Novel translates. "In Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers" is another one of those cartoons that prompted me to search for its translated light novels... I found it here, and that there are 18 or so volumes already translated.
Second: If I am remembered by others here, you will recall that there are some topics that I stay away from. J-Novel itself does not label or tag the titles or individual novels within the series with those stay away topics. So... I ask the forum for help in this matter.
Third: My request: Since there are so many volumes already translated, I thought to buy them all. However, when looking for where to get the books, I came across the following: that continued rape and trauma bonding is supposedly a big part of this story. I would like to know if that is true, as it is within the realm of my 'stay away from' topics.
Moderators: I do not know a word that can be used for what is a specific type of sexual assault. If you would like me to use another word; please tell me which word to use, and I will edit the post according to your wishes.
Thank you all in advance.

Long story short: it is not true.
There is a running gag related to such topic, but it is so shallow and ridiculed that I pretty much forgot entirely about it.
Aside of maybe a single instance nothing happens in that regards that it deserves more mention than it is a single bleep in the whole story.
Therefore, the information you got that such is "supposedly a big part of this story" is entirely false.

@igounfazed on a side note: if you watched the anime then you already came across that story bit. It will not go further than that.

@Serah - I'll have to partly disagree,
It's not a part of the main characters' story, but one of the side characters (the genie) does sexually assault the enemy mage. It then becomes a part of the story that the mage "falls in love" with her abuser.
Since they're now a couple, the running gag of their sexual exploits is treated as comedy, but that ignores that the "relationship" started with abuse, which apparently broke and reformed the mage's personality.
If you can ignore that the relationship started that way then yes, it's not a part of later volumes.
@igounfazed - if you start reading with volume 2 or skip that part of volume 1 then you should be OK reading the rest.
It's unfortunate when a LN author decides to include that kind of comedy. Even Smartphone did it at least once.

@HarmlessDave thank you for your honest response. Subjects such as these, while I don't fault others for liking or not being bothered by them, do bother me, so I do my best to stay away from them. I really appreciate the reply. Again, thank you.
I really wish book content was more readily labeled with these things, but it is what it is. I mean, how do you sell something with a sexual assault tag for its content outside of the xxx industry? I am just glad my prior experience guided me into asking before getting through a book or two. Apparently, I was recently told, there is a bunch of pronoun usage as well. That grammar would also make it difficult for me to read through and enjoy the story as well.
Anyway, thank you HarmlessDave.
