      It's always best to start with the novel and usually just fine to stay with it. With the bright exception of The Apothecary Diaries, I can't recall an anime that rises up to the level of or enriches much a good novel.

        @topgnu the Grieving Soul anime has been fun to watch after reading the LN, and has included stories that weren't in the LN like the first meeting with Tino. I'd say to start with the LN for that too, but then also watch the anime.

        I agree that it's hard to find many anime I'd recommend over reading the LN, but Unwanted Undead Adventurer might be one if you have a low tolerance for pages of pointless rambling :)
