I'm guessing they toned down Bonifatius exploding the head of the attackers because of TV rating or something.
I agree with @Libri-Liberorum that the fight scene where on the lesser side (and that Damuel really look stupid here).
They made it a tad more evident that Graussam is the one doing this (because of the voice) but then tried to make it less evident (with a bonus that this is foreshadowing that he can make clones) by having Graussam or his clone walk past immediatly in the next scene.
Interesting that Hugo saw the odd carriage, I don't remember that from the books.
I am also glad they made the title non-spoilery both this one and the next episode (considering that we know she's getting rescued that would not be a spoiler, but considering what comes next, they could have used other more spoilery titles).
(PS: I love the Bonifatius nuking the kidnapper from orbit just before the clifthanger end and the part where he is dreaming about Roz's reaction to him saving the day).

The end title card kind of give away just who shot that attack :P

Only just watched the anime, didn't realize it came out so long ago. I guess that means there will be no season 2.

Currently on episode 11 and the anime-only spouse is ready to rage-quit just short of the finish line because of how infuriating Eli's insecurities are. 8-) At the end of episode 10 when Eli and Chris were not talking to each other, he said "They're so stupid (because a 5 second talk would have fixed all the misunderstandings), neither of them deserve love." 8-) 8-)

Agreed, he seems more immature in the anime.

Hell Mode Season 2 Anime just premiered today (Jul 3, 2026) on Hidive via simulcast. It looked as good as season 1.

Yeah I heard about this on Reddit. Apparently it's premiering in Japan on Dec 11, 2026 in between cour 1 (Oct 2026) and cour 2 (Apr 2027) of the new season (3) of the anime.

I love the manga that JNC’s put out so far. I’ll likely give the anime a try.

Probably better as an anime than a LN at this point.

I am really enjoying s2 so much. I love the chill story.

An original movie plot? Set (presumably) after book 6? Interesting...

CC season 2 of the animae has gone the path of rot. Most of each episode is now just characters squealing "Sugoy!" to each other as the camera pulls back and pivots to stretch out one animation cell for twelve.

The cooking "animation" is just a hands video of someone cooking a meal for two with an animation filter applied afterwards. Then it pulls back and magically the human sized portion is now 40 portions stacked in front of the characters.

And instead of the snap delivery of the light novel as it steps through the dialog of each of the quartet, it has to Full Stop. After. Each. Sentence.

Particularly grating is Sui. It already has a slow and halting delivery to indicate its a child, but then a repeating musical scale has to be inserted after each sentence delivery to indicate its a slime. And Dora-Chan has to have wing sounds inserted after each sentence to show he's a dragon.

What a decline.

I just saw the first episode of this anime. I think it did a pretty good job of following the LN. I thought Mei looked a bit like Hestia.
