      Jeweler Richard cover

      Description

On a seemingly ordinary night, university student Nakata Seigi rescues a beautiful Englishman named Richard from a group of drunkards. Richard is a jeweler who travels around the world to sell jewels to clients. Together, the two begin to solve mysteries surrounding the jewels they come across and their owners, starting with the mysterious pink sapphire ring that Seigi’s grandmother left to him

      Publisher: Shueisha Orange Bunko

      Number of volumes: 10 (ongoing)

      Manga: Yes

      Anime: Yes

This series recently had an anime adaption, which was good, but I heard that the anime left out a lot of things, so I really want to read the novels. Even the author tweeted that you should read the novels to find out the extra details.

I don’t know if it would quite fit Heart, as it’s more BL (but only implied - it never gets confirmed, from what I understand, though it’s pretty obvious the two leads are interested in each other).

This sounds interesting, I love a good mystery.

@Lily-Garden At least with the anime, it’s more character-driven mystery than standard mystery, so it’s finding the background of the character(s) for the case and what they’re hiding or situations they are dealing with. The anime is good and at times very good, and what I heard was left out of some of the cases makes it sound like the novels are even better.

@lilitu93 Thanks for the info, I'll have to add the anime to my watch list.

I got excited when I saw Seven Seas had licensed this title, but they licensed the manga adaptation only. So that means at least there’s something to buy to show interest in it, but I’m still hoping the original light novel will get licensed too.

For those who are interested, the first volume of the manga adaptation is being released early March. I’ve pre-ordered the digital version. I normally prefer to read the original first and then see if the adaptations get good reviews, but I wanted to get this to show that there’s interest in this series, which means it’s more likely someone will license the novel.
