Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon (My Blissful/Happy Marriage) is a historical fantasy story about Saimori Miyo, a girl who was mistreated by her family after her mother died and her father married his former lover. Miyo came from a long line of magic users, but has no magical power herself, leading her to be ignored in favor of her little sister. One day, it is decided that she will be married to the heir of the Kudou family, a cold-hearted(?) and powerful magic user who had rejected all his previous marriage candidates. All Miyo can hope for in her sad life is a happy marriage...

The story has the structure of your basic Cinderella story, but with a twist. I love historical settings (I think late 19th or early 20th century Japan, think Rurouni Kenshin) so I hope this series (both novel and manga) will get license soon.

I read a bit of the manga recently and what I've seen definitely makes me want to read the LN. What attracts me the most is that beyond the prologue, it has a gentle and lovely atmosphere despite dealing with depressing situation, so it feels like a healing story rather than misery porn. Sort of like "I'll Never Set Foot in This House Again!" but for more mature audience and in an early 20th century Japanese setting.

I also add a vote of support for this. The series would add to the rather small J-Novel Heart imprint lineup, yet is very distinct in its premise and tone in comparison. It is also selling very well in Japan, and I think it would also do well in the West.
With the recent Kadokawa acquisition, I think it provides a great change to license titles from a wider variety of genres, especially this one.

Definitely a lovely story, something that would go quite well with the Heart branch. Manga is also something I've enjoyed.
