J-novel series audiobook Suggestions Hub & wishlist
-
The topic of JNC audiobooks came up recently (brief as it was) in the coins discussion and it got me thinking that there should be a place for us to suggest what JNC series should get the audiobook treatment after Slayers and talk about various related things. I figure it would also be helpful to Sam & co. in giving them a sense of which series there is interest in an audio format.
There are a variety of series I think would make good audiobooks and I am very much interested in hearing the thoughts of y'all!

I will start us off with my first suggestion: I would like to see Tearmoon Empire get an audiobook format
This series has all the elements that make for a great audiobook: a colorful cast of characters---each with their own distinct voice--a snarky narrator, delicious descriptive language, and a protagonist with such a clear voice that I can practically hear her whenever I read the page.
I want Tearmoon in as many forms as I can get it; I have preordered the manga and bought the LN is both digital and physical formats (yes, it's that good that I buy every volume twice). The only thing that would make me happier than if I got an audiobook version would be if an anime adaption got made as well! ^
^Side-note: Why hasn't this been made into already an anime? Reading the manga recently has only proven a long-standing belief that this would look amazing if made into an anime

Bumping the topic for the new year

Well, I'll add a suggestion for Realist Hero.
-
I would put Ascendance of a Bookworm, but…
I suspect that particular series would have a lot to figure out before doing so would be reasonable.

Well given that the forum for the next volume has nearly a hundred posts despite there being no prepubs released yet, I would definitely say it’s popular enough for an audiobook to be considered…

I would also like to see Altina the Sword Princess get an audiobook

@Lily-Garden Speaking of subfora, I'm hoping that a Tearmoon Subforum gets made soon... we've got enough topics...

That makes two of us…

I’d certainly pick up the audiobooks for Faraway Paladin if they were to make them.
-
Bookworm and Tearoom would both be good. I will suggest
- Arifureta
- Arifureta Zero
- Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter
- Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic Short Stories
It seems like most don't know and I only know because of these articles, but JNC has some more audiobooks planned.

@jdmmis thanks for posting the list of audiobooks that are already in the works. I knew Sam had mentioned something of the sort but I couldn't remember the details
-
@Lily-Garden No problem, I have a hard time remembering or finding any information about them too.
I hope they make it easier to find out information about them soon. I know with Slayers I kept checking audible and finally one day on the forum I saw someone saw it was out. I don't remember seeing any official announcement or anything besides that.
JNC needs to do better on that front though I'm excited they are working on more :).

@jdmmis JNC definitely promoted the Slayers audiobook. In September they tweeted "Pre-Orders will be available soon!" and even gave release date of November 15. On November 15 both the JNC forum and website announced it was out with store links. On November 16 they tweeted the store links, with further promotion on November 19.

@LegitPancake I'm glad to hear that, I guess I just missed it.
