Oda Nobuna no Yabou
-
Suddenly finding himself in the Sengoku period, average high school student Yoshiharu Sagara is about to be killed on the battlefield. He is saved by none other than the man who would later become the respected Hideyoshi Toyotomi, but at the cost of the latter's life. With the course of history altered as a result of these events, Yoshiharu tries to make things right again. Yoshiharu, however, is surprised to discover that the people he meets, the places he encounters, and the historical events he is dragged into are somewhat different than what he remembers from his favorite Sengoku era video game – Nobunaga's Ambition. Yoshiharu soon discovers that, in this version of the Sengoku period, Nobunaga Oda does not exist – instead being replaced by a young woman named Nobuna Oda who holds his position as a daimyō. Yoshiharu begins working under Nobuna's command, with hopes of correcting the course of history and finding his way back home to the present-day world.
Everybody loves isekai, everybody loves historical genderflipping, and everybody loves senki. How could anybody resist a triple threat of the trio? -
Hell yeah! I really liked the anime. Would love to read how the story continues.
Too bad it's
a Kadokawa title... andover 20 volumes long. -
You got a up-vote from me

The first ten volumes (Japanese language only) are on sale on Bookwalker JP for 30 JPY each.

really cool novel, recommended !
-
@doublemangekyo But now we have a little hope now
-
YES! I need more of this! this needs to get translated so I can read the entire story
-
Judging from my experience, if a Novel gets a terrible anime adaptation the original is usually pretty good (11Eyes coff coff).
And of course, if the anime adaptation is really good, the original must be a masterpiece that blows your mind.
I still listen to Takanashi Yasuharu's OSTs, especially Tenka Fubu.
How the anime didn't get a second season or this LN hasn't been translated yet is a fucking mistery I will never be able to unveil.
Also, this was Isekai before it would become mainstream.

I would love to see this picked up, especially with the sheer number of volumes to be translated. I really enjoyed the anime, and the characters were a lot of fun.
-
@michaelblue-the-king anime ended up going original near the end so a bit harder for it to get a 2nd season
-
@jason_wander I will go for the Light Novel being officially translated, then :^)

@ratedhook522 I don't know who the girl on the right is, but you can clearly see from the hair that the man is the protagonist and the woman next to him is without a doubt Oda Nobuna (FMC). It is probably playing on the "living our lives, dying, and finding each other in the future again" trope, since the buildings look like modern day Japan.
Switching subjects, this was one of the first anime I saw. I loved it. It's probably going to go down as a gem that wasn't licensed. What a shame, really.

I just finished Volume 10 today and my god I'm dying to find out what happens.
