@raitoiro funny thing I was going to say Empty Box and Kokoro but OP said not Emo, and even though I can’t consider all the characters of Kokoro Emo, the story kinda makes them seem it. Empty Box seems Emo too plenty of times. (To me at least)

Sorry but J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing decision or acquisitions.

@rahul-balaggan Considering what they goes throught it would be hard to be happy, i think the one from Kokoro connect remain quite joyful despite all, same for the one from Hakumaria for someone being bullied by a lovecraftian horror he is quite happy ^^.
If i were to label one of the Mc list as emo it would probably be Haruhiro, the man goes throught depression for 3 volumes but he is also the one with the more reasons to be depressed.

Do you like death, war and misery ?
Do you like badass op loli who let nobody got in their way ?
        Do you like vengeance story?
If so then then vote for The girl who ate a death god

@myskaros Oh I did like the story overall and almost everything about the witches, otherwise I wouldn't have lasted 100+ chapters. But all that forcibly converting feudalistic society into communism and abolishment/severe limitations of nobility really isn't to my taste.

What makes you think decision of many is better than decision of one? Everything gets dragged out and discussed endlessly. And then it's either a poor compromise that doesn't make anyone happy or the group that happens to be in the majority still forces their their ideas on the others.

@crey Oh, I wasn't trying to say I thought one or the other was necessarily better, I was just musing that we can kind of predict the path the story takes as we trace the technological advances throughout human history, so I wonder what will happen once he fully modernizes the world.

It's easy for Roland to say "we should move in this direction" when he has a road map in his head, but once he reaches the edge of the map, it's harder to be so confident that his decisions are objectively best.

Anyway, should probably end this sidebar here so that I/we don't start spoiling the story too much :x

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.
