Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou!

Was gonna suggest this but saw that it was made already, currently 20 LN Volumes, 7 Manga Volumes, and a 12 episode qnime series... if it has all this I think it is popular enough to get an English Adaptation for the LNs... preferably a physical version, but if thats not possible so long as it gets an official one I'd be happy
-
Well this is one I'd want personally as I love both the kingdom building aspects, the girls and the interesting world building, but I can certainly see why people.say it's boring.
And yeah, the anime did suck ... A bad adaption indeed...
-
@shipteaser I mean, the anime was kinda boilerplate but I wouldn't say it sucked... at least, not in my opinion.
-
@thegrimlich I have seen worse yes,but I guess I'm biased and salty as I liked the source material a lot more....
-
@shipteaser I think it is because Arifureta and Master of Ragnarok's anime's were so bad that the bar has been lowered so far that the anime for this didn't seem nearly as bad as they did to me.
I enjoyed this story when I read the fan translation years ago and would love to see this one come the the English market. -
As a long time reader of the fan TLs of the WN, i as well would love to see this licensed for EN release. It's certainly better than some things that have been quickly picked up for licensing in the past. Is it a genius masterpiece of literature? no, but then no LN really is. but it is fun to read.
The anime.... well, it's a standard boilerplate anime made only to advertise the source so, yeah, cut down to bare bones which leaves a lot of things making no particular sense.

@drone205 said in Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou!:
Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou!
(English title from the anime: The 8th son? Are you kidding me?)
Ichinomiya Shingo, a young 25 years old, single, worker of firm company while thinking of tomorrow’s busy working day goes to sleep. However, the moment he woke up, it was inside a room unknown to him.
He then learned that he took over the mind of a 6 years-old child, remembering a lot from the memories of the said boy: he was born as the youngest (8th son and 10th child) in a of poor noble family living in back country. Having no administrative skill, he can’t do anything to manage the vast land his family has.
Fortunately, he is blessed with the very rare talent of magic. Unfortunately, while it could bring prosperity to his family, in his situation it only led to a disaster. Yes, this is the story of the boy, Wendelin Von Benno Baumeister, opening his own path in a harsh world.
I do not know much about this series but I really want it. From my understanding, this series focuses on relationships, world-building and, politics. These are things I really want and the fact that it has 13 volumes means that there is enough there that it can go for so long.
Same, I’ve been keeping up with the fan translation and it’d give me a reason to re-read with the LN version proper. (Fan translations jumped from web novel to light novel due to story bog... during the civil war arc)
This would jump to my top 5 or 6 that I’d read religiously on JNC and buying the actual Digital’s!

@thomask I have read some of the fan translation and found a huge amount of overlap between the narration and dialogue. Also they had a lot of recaps within a chapter. Each chapter was a great exercise in repetition. I suspect 8the son would require a lot of editing and condensing for a good readable story.
I like the characters, even if they are unrealistic and would like to see a solid translation.
Also the anime was terrible but I couldn't stop watching for some reason. Maybe I have become a coniseur of bad anime since I couldn't stop watching Arifureta as well.
-
To be honest I’ve read much much much worse. Sure it’s a bit repetitious but I’m guessing that has to do with the first chunk I read was the web novel...
Wortenia is much worse IMO, especially around web novel volume 6? Meh, I’m a sucker for punishment most times... I can deal with over description but some of these take it to a whole new level...

I definitely want to read this so I hope you guys license this i would definitely buy this one
-
Loved the anime, the politics aspect is quite unique. When I found out about the fan translation, I could not un-glue myself from it for quite a bit of time.
Would love to see this get picked up.
-
I would also definitely be interested in this. I been reading the fan TL of it for a long time, but I would still love to own the physical copies of the officially translated version.
-
-
I would love to see this licensed as well, I actually liked the anime but I would be interested in how the books are given people think it wasn't a great adaptation.
-
-
@Perplexed I would love read it also just don't know where to find it
-
I am currently a fan of the manga adaption, but I wonder if the light novels are any good? I just checked on Bookwalker and it says there are currently 29 volumes published right now. That is crazy.

I am hoping that this Lightnovel series can be picked up. the only other english source for this series is a patroen user who is charging to translate the latest volumes (anything after volume 18).
