Its also from the same illustrator who worked on "Rokka No Yuusha".

But yeah, the series "Sareyuu" is quite long, there's about 20-plus volumes and counting

Hentai Ōji to Warawanai Neko is one of my suggestions, especially that is series has just completed with 12 volumes. This title is published by Media Factory of Kadogawa.

J-Novel should work with Kadokawa, since they control around 45% of LN publishing.

I'm sure they would if they could. I do wonder if the all-digital model holds back that partnership from happening? Kadokawa has so many different titles and labels, it'd be great to get anything from them.

As an aside, on the Curiosity Cat someone was asking about how One Peace managed to get the Shield Hero content from them. Certainly interesting how a smaller pub in the LN scene was able to do that.

@terrence for what it’s worth Shield Hero was acquired before the 51% purchase of Yen Press

@theo yes i am sure 100% of all users agree, however if it were that easy it would have been done.

But they did manage to acquire the Spear Hero Spin-off this year too. So at least the Shield Hero partnership has continued passed the original series.

Was Mikagura School Suite Kadokawa? That was released in 2017 by One Peace. No second volume in sight though...

Ooh, nice. So the pre-orders exist.

Now I just need my Sound Eupho.

@terrence Shield Hero is Media Factory, and so is the spin off and so is Mikagura.

So originally One Peace got to Kadokawa’s Media Factory property and now has clout and got some more books.

Also V2 of Mikagura, and V3 of Mikagura. The fact that it’s all media Factory and that the relationship started before the yen press take over helps connect the dots (at least in my mind)

I'd like to request "Gonna be the Twintail!!!" be added to the list of light novels.

From what I recall, Kadokawa has Enterbrain, ASCII Media Works (Dengeki Bunko), and Media Factory (MF Bunko J).

The only LN company that doesn't have the LNs licensed, on YP's side, is Fantasia Bunko.

Fantasia Bunko is known for DXD, Saekano, plus "Oda Nobuna No Yabou".

Idk if Kadokawa owns Gagaga Bunko, but they do own Kadokawa Sneaker.

I just don't get why YP licensed the manga versions of Saekano and DXD, which are under Fantasia Bunko, but not their LNs....

@xftg123 More then likely it was deemed to have a high sell rate with the manga then the light novel.

The manga base overseas is ginormous especially compared to the light novel base overseas it’s still really young. Especially with a series like DxD people will wanna see the lewds not picture it in their heads and the manga will provide them with whatever Lewds they want.

As for Saekano it was probably the genre that made Yen stick to the manga.

It’s gonna take a lot of time before everyone embraces light novels as they do manga, my friends in particular won’t even humor me when I give them my novels to read, they just ask if there is a manga, one of them is in love with Danmachi cause of the anime and i gave him all the novels to read and he said nah he will read the manga even though it doesn’t go past season 1

Anyone interested in Chihou Kishi Hans no Junan, go on Alphapolis if you can read the raws, it has 7 volumes of the the light novel series.
                                  Link: alphapolis.co.jp/novel/32140380/712068254.

You can sample the first 3 chapters of each volume, but it seems you have to be a member for Alphapolis to view the whole volume.

@xftg123 Gagaga Bunko is part of Shogakukan.
A publisher I'd love JNC to work with since they have Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu.!

My light novel counter (EN & JP) for series published by Yen On / JNC / Seven Seas

YP does have one Fujimi Bunko title (not from Fujimi Fantasia label but from the same Kadokawa subsidiary.)
Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku

So, hope that means that Fujimi is OK to be back in US market (after all, most of TokyoPOP titles were from Fujimi like Slayers & Full Metal Panic!)

All the series I am gonna mention rn will be from Kodansha or one of affiliated companies. (There will be no other connection than I want them to be translated~xD)

                                          Kodansha Box:

I mentioned Ryukishi07's Higurashi before so, let's mention
Umineko no Naku Koro ni & Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru

                                          8 volumes + ongoing

I think everyone knows the VN~

Kodansha BOX without NisiOisiN is blasphemy so:

                                          Katanagatari
                                          alt text
Loved the anime and need the novels in my life!

And his recent series that is about a detective whose memory resets every day (& everyone is thinking it's Hanekawa) and one truly unfortunate man. He's so unfortunate that misfortune is in his name (for real)
                                          Boukyaku Tantei Series
                                          alt text

Well, that's enough from BOX even tho, I got more on my list~

                                          Let's talk Taiga
                                          Bishounen Series

                                          It's by NisiOisiN.
                                          No need to know more~xD

                                          I won't deny it
I want this cuz I like the art.
Yeah, it sounds like cool mystery/fantasy series but it's the art that makes me wanna read it.

Taiga also has latest work by Hakomari's author, Eiji Mikage (Satsujinki Tantei no Netsuzou Bigaku) which I mentioned before along its synopsis

                                          Kodansha NOVELS/Bunko
                                          Sekai Series

It's no secret that NisiOisiN likes Boogiepop's author Kouhei Kadono work and when he writes a series that depends on retelling the same event from different perspectives, he got asked about this.

                                          That series was this one~

                                          Shinsekai yori
                                          alt text
If you watched the anime, you know what this is~

The last label I am gonna mention~
                                          Seikaisha Bunko

                                          Red Dragon
                                          alt text
                                          Why is this interesting?

Well, it has Gen Urobuchi (Madoka, Psychopass, Saya no Uta), Kinoko Nasu (Type-Moon), Ryohgo Narita (Durarara!!, Baccano!), Makoto Sanda (Rental Magica), Izuki Kougyoku (Mimizuku to Yoru no Ou), Simadoriru (member of the Stripe Pattern doujin circle) listed as auhtors.

                                          Synopsis:
The story takes place in Huanli (the Year of Dazzling) 3015. Donatia and Kouran, two countries fighting for supremacy, are causing the world to be torn apart due to the constant war. Amidst the strife is the island country Nil Kamui, which has lost its independence. Red Dragon, the guardian god of Nil Kamui, goes out of control. Will the island country be able to regain its independence?

@bloodygaikotsu Red Dragon had an anime adaptation, and afaik, it's more of a replay of a tabletop RPG played by all those authors, that's why they are all involved, each author played a character in the story. The anime was a trainwreck though.

EDIT: HOLY CRAP1!!! Okitegami Kyouko is written by Nisioisin?? I loved the manga, can't believe the original novels were written by him, he really is a master of mistery.
