Novel pick-up requests

Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou seems like a good fit for J-Novel Club. It's published by Overlap, I believe.
-
Personally, I would love to see Full Metal Panic! get picked up - especially since there's a new season coming out soon.
-
Hope to see Steins;Gate 0 be aired

@Kotaro-Agata said in Novel pick-up requests:

...what does that have to do with light novels?
Though I certainly wouldn't mind getting a translation of the Epigraph Trilogy, which is more or less one of the routes of Steins;Gate 0.

Soooo...About that Shakugan no Shana...
-Patiently is hopeful-
Viz Media started that series too soon. Though the anime, manga and light novels all finished in Japan. I think if it came out now sales would have been different. Thanks to you all at J-Novel Club, as well as Yen Press and One Peace Books, it seems that Light Novels are becoming more main stream in Western Countries and I'm grateful for that.
I'm here because I really want to show support for light novels and this community.
The funny thing about all of this is that I wasn't really a reader until my first light novel. Not since the age of Goose Bumps anyway lol.
But yeah. I really hope Shakugan no Shana gets picked up. By someone anyone. The light novels were a bit in Japan even before Sword Art Online came out. It's a shame to see it rot away with a mere two volume release by Viz.

Was checking Overlap titles earlier and I forgot The God Slaying Hero and the Seven Covenants was by them, I have been really enjoying that one.
Another one was Antique of the Galactic War Chronicle which I have been meaning to check out, I'm not sure if it's only 2 volumes long or got dropped or what though. -
I'm curious can you get licenses for Dengeki Bunko novels?
Would love to see the following one translated , it's also only 3 volumes.
Danshi Koukousei de Urekko Light Novel Sakka wo Shiteiru keredo, Toshishita no Classmate de Seiyuu no Onnanoko ni Kubi wo Shimerareteiru.
-
I'd be a fan of a few 1-3 volume series getting translated. We had Brave Chronicles and Occultic but I don't think you've had any since. I like a variety of series length
-
@the-green-death most series with only 2 or 3 volumes got cancelled though...
But there are some out there of that length that are interesting. Or 4 volumes.
-
@Sam-Pinansky That makes sense. I'm guessing cancelled series leave a number of unsettled threads in the air - though I don't think that would bother me (I'm not reading these things in order to actually witness the final Demon King confrontation - the journey is what interests me), I doubt I'm the majority here.
-
@the-green-death Series that get cancelled after 2-3 volumes rarely have good conclusions because the author usually tacks on a lame ending or closure.
There are some that are pretty self contained in each volume that would be fine, but you can just tell by looking at the amazon.co.jp reviews what most people think of final books in a series that weren't really meant to be "final".
Also sometimes it's not that they're cancelled but that the author just stops the series because they don't want to write it anymore. I think followers of enough web novels will be well aware of this problem...
-
@Sam-Pinansky Would you happen to know if Ikai Shinki to no Reunion from Softbank Creative is cancelled or still ongoing? MAL has it listed as a completed series while MU doesn't really have any tags or indicators as to whether it's truly ongoing. I've read both translated volumes a while back but it's definitely not a completed story.
-
@Aruseus493 no insider info there. Series are rarely cancelled publicly, they will just have next volumes never listed or have the schedule just as "mitei" 未定
-
I've put together a list of the most requested licenses on this site to date in case anyone is interested in this. As the list is rather long I'll just link to the blog post where I posted it rather than listing it out on here. I hope that's okay.
-
@kuuderes_shadow I love this. =)
I know at least one vote for this was me.
Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru – 2
This too. =)
Inou Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de – 3
Kokoro Connect leading, eh. It was a pretty popular anime. I'm curious to see how natural some of the developments I've heard about from the OVAs / post series are, or if it feels like the writer was playing to fan favoritism.
-
If we are requesting only from Overlap or Hobby Japan then would be the following:
- Kou 1 Desu ga Isekai de Joushu Hajimemashita
- Sword and Wizards
- Hyakka Ryouran – Samurai Girls
- Mythical Spirit Chronicle
- World Teacher: Other World Style Education & Agent
-
@crismond It won't be long until that's not true anymore...
-
@Sam-Pinansky Oh this is going to be exciting!
-
@Sam-Pinansky hype!
-
@kuuderes_shadow Thanks for the list, that's pretty interesting. Now I'm going to have watch the Kokoro Connect anime to see why people are wanting the LNs.
