Novel pick-up requests
-
@gocav No I was interested in physics since middle school and always had einstein as my sort of role model as a kid.
-
Speaking of this year's Overlap light novel competition, what the heck is "Julia Caesar - Gaul Senki"? "Tullia Cicero?" "Licita Crassus"? Is this just Oda Nobuna - SPQR Edition?
-
@Catscope It seems to be an ancient rome themed "travelled to the past but everyone is busty girls".
-
So Koihime Musou - Ver. Imperium Romanum then.
They're just giving out prizes like candy these days aren't they?
But hey, you guys don't have one of those yet. -
@Catscope I'd like to hold one! Maybe this summer. Get those light novel ideas ready!
Our prize might be a little lower than the Japanese publishers prizes though. Some of them payout like $10,000 to the winner!
-
LF Violet Evergarden license :P
-
@Sam-Pinansky When will you post the new clues? I wanna make sure I had the right idea about the titles xD
-
@Catscope Those prizes are so common* because they're basically the way that the publisher finds out about new authors, as well as giving them a bit of popularity to get started. Whereas in the west, if you want to get your work published you basically just spam it off to every possible publisher you can find out about and hope that they accept it, in Japan (for the light novel industry at least) the standard is to submit it for an award at the publisher of your choice, and if it reaches a certain stage then it may be published. This is getting broken down somewhat by the rise of LN-ification of Web Novels but is still the basic way that things work.
In other words, these things shouldn't really be looked at in the same way as awards run by separate organisations, or even awards for works that are already released.
*MF Bunko J runs them 4 times a year...

Wortenia Senki.
-
I want Kamigoroshi no Eiyuu to Nanatsu no Seiyaku to be picked up.
Question: If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord! is this a lolicon's story? I hope not.

Are you are asking if the main character is a lolicon? Then absolutely not. But I also have to warn you:
-
@Hakomari
-
-
But I am really glad, that one of my guesses hit the right spot heh. Can't wait for other 3 LN licenses
-
Requesting another title - "Wortenia Senki" from HJ. The manga skips a lot and the WN translations are just atrocious...
The story has a lot of potential. It has a MC that is neither a cold-blooded killer nor a pussy that runs away from fight / hides his powers. He is not killing just for the sake of killing, he is killing people because he needs to. Only 6 chapter into the manga and I already love the guy.
