@bloodygaikotsu people who are looking for LNs are looking for LNs manga or not they want LNs, many people who want manga won’t tpuch LNs.
As @Terrence said they are potentially trying to get ahead of an anime, which is better then coming in right before or during.
As for whether it’s more likely to sell Kadokawa owns 51% of Yen, if they thought the risk was to great they wouldn’t take it.
I for one would like to see all the ones you mentioned licensed, however I am still really happy to read the mother one.
(I am sure you are familiar with many of the things I said in my post like Kadokawa owning Yen, I am merely just stating what I had to state)

You really think a LN without an anime or licensed manga is more of a safe bet even if it's an isekai?Publishers see Isekai as this holy grail right now, so unfortunately, yes I do.
It has other things going for it, like its absurdity. I don't know what Chaika or Akashic have going that makes them stand out in the crowd of fantasy. Gamers! I think would be a great pickup, but again, I think these publishers try to play it safe.

YP picked up Re:Zero before the anime came out, Slime as well. I believe DanMachi's first volume came out in English right before the anime started airing or shortly after. They do get stuff that already had its anime air (e.g. Accel World, Hataraku Maou-sama, Overlord), but I do think they'd rather predict the next anime since it's a better boost to sales when they have new story already available rather than risk their audience forgetting about a series while YP slowly catches up.
Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

I ain't fan of Chaika and I didn't check Rokudenashi anime either, so I ain't necessarily mentioning personal favs~ (even tho, Saekano is a personal fav) -

A lot of the ones you mention in this post are old and have many volumes piled up. I don't think a work with a lot of volumes already would be a good test case. I'm already pretty bitter about Sound Eupho not getting another volume yet, I can't imagine how I'd feel if they tested out a 10-20 volume series and quietly canned it. T.T
But we'll see. I'm hopeful that Seven Seas will help push away the stigma of old series being forgotten with Toradora and Tenchi Myou... Though I'm honestly not interested in either of those two myself (I might grab Toradora, but I know the ending, watched the anime, so I dunno how much I would enjoy that). =[

@myskaros very much this, as long as they get at least 2-3 volumes out before the anime starts airing, they have enough buffer time with the adaptation to get the next volume out which would hook in anime-watchers that want to know what's coming next. I guess we'll se how this plan works out for JNC once How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord hits CR on Summer (it was summer right?)

Fujimi has no anime announced aside from this season so far anyways, so dunno about that.
We will wait and see. -
@bloodygaikotsu I mean yeah, like I said, "predict." The first volume is scheduled for this winter, so they'd like an anime to come out 2019-2020 to do what @paulnamida said and build a buffer of novels for people to buy as soon as the anime finishes airing.

It's probably Kadokawa is trying to shed light on some of less popular series, that's all. (I think that most of them are new series and aside from 86, none of them hit Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! ranking nor was part of the top 10 sales)
Well, I'll be getting Toradora but after catching up to Monogatari, Perfect Blue, and Kagerou Daze.

Just to add a bit to Mother Isekai's candidacy, it does also have an Audiobook version. Of course, that means nothing to us since I don't think we're getting any more audiobooks after Viz's test of that water failed, but again, just another indication of how much they're trying to push Mommy Isekai.
There's really no manga yet though? That's weird. And the reviews for Mommy Isekai online weren't the most glowing. So those are two strikes against it that do make it an odd choice, but again, they just really seem to be pushing it for one reason or another. I can see why Yen may have picked it up, but I can't see why Kadokawa wants to push it so much.

There is a manga, it's being drawn by the LN artist too.
EDIT: Hmm, that's weird, the Baka-Updates entry shows a different person drawing the manga, but I'm pretty sure it's Pochi-Goya O.o

Well, I just hope it sells, Fujimi getting back to the market with Death March, Mother one and Tenshi seems like a good thing, just hope I get to see more of its "unpopular genres".
After all, for me, Fujimi holds some of the best Romcoms, comedy and SOL while Media Works Bunko (ASCII Media Works) and Enterbrain have some of the best Drama series~ -

I want all the SOL and Romantic Drama I can get. I think I post enough about White Album 2 as it is, but someone with money bags and the passion for romantic triangles, get on translating that in some capacity officially.
Generally speaking, I don't vouch for Isekai as those other genres need more support... But I like older characters and character designs, so I'm all for the Mommy Isekai.
Edit: Now to vouch for more fantasy, lol.
Author (?) behind 86 is taking 86 questions from fans. You need to include the #86_dengeki in your message, and you also have to start your message off with the question label in Japanese "質問です！".... which I totally failed at. I decided to try and ask if the novel could possibly come stateside... Using Google translate...
この小説がアメリカで公開される可能性はありますか？
The answers will be posted in a magazine I think, so whether they could answer that or no I wouldn't see it probably. xC

@myskaros @paulnamida I looked at how much of Re:Zero YP has managed to translate. They haven't even reached the end of the anime yet, which completely astounded my non-LN-reading son. Kind of soured him on YP too.

@paul-nebeling To be fair, I’m told the anime zoomed through a whopping NINE light novel volumes. That would take YP at least 3 years to cover.

@legitpancake To be fair, it was two cours. Rokujouma did six and a half in one hour. Nine is a little much, but not ridiculously so.

Well No Game No Life volume 7 has once again been pushed back by Yen Press. It’s publishing date is a little more than a year after their release of volume 6.

That's not fair, though, as a critique. YP picked up the license 4 months before the anime started airing, and the anime covered book 9 before book 9 was even released in Japan :/

I'm still curious as to why Yen Press even keeps on delaying "No Game No Life". It seems they're releasing a volume a year now....
