Novel pick-up requests

@Sam-Pinansky Ben-to and Kamisama no Memo-cho are two other good ones that largely disappeared after they aired (okay, Ben-to isn't so much good as enjoyably ridiculous, but still).
In general, I'd like to see non-SF series -- mysteries, romcoms, straight up melodramas. Besides Ben-to, Kamimemo and the aforementioned Toradora and Sakurasou, there's Romeo Tanaka's Aura and Mariko Shimizu's Uso series
-
Well for requests I have plenty. A couple though:
Tokyo Ravens
Campione
Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry
Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin -
I second all the people who have requested Grimgar.
-
I would love it if you were to pick up Ero Manga Sensei. Since it's from the creator or Oreimo it already has a bit of a fanbase and seeing how an Anime is in production, expect it to blow up in terms of popularity once that comes out.
-
I also would love to see The Pet Girl of Sakurasou and Hai to Gensou no Grimgar translated. I look forward to your releases and hope you have great success!

@Sam-Pinansky said in Novel pick-up requests:
@Melicans There are a lot of series from those seasons 5 years ago or so, C3, kuro usagi, dantalian... that were based off light novels that people seem to have forgotten. Denpa Onna seems to be the one people remember the most, though.
I also want Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian.
-
WIll echo in my support for Kokoro Connect, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou and Toradora.
Also, though not actually an LN, the books I would most want to see translated next would be the Classic Literature Club (Koten-bu) series of which the anime Hyouka was adapted from.
-
hmm so for request...
so far i think musaigen phantom world, iirc it's novel though. -
My request is not for a specific light novel but rather a publisher. Please develop a relationship with Alphapolis. They've had so many web manga adaptations of their works in the last couple years, they've really intrigued a lot of people.
And me personally, I'd also love to see some novels from their imprint for girls, Regina. -
How about A Corpse is Buried Beneath Sakurako's Feet?
-
I would love to see kokoro connect and hyouka being translated!
-
@Solistia I've tried to get in contact with them but they don't actually have any international sales people... Now that we've launched I might have more luck getting them interested.
-
Must say if you ever pick up Shogakukan as a publisher, I'd really really love for you to pick up Sasami-san@Ganbaranai which hasn't been picked up yet by anyone else. Pretty please!
-
@Sam-Pinansky I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! ^o^
Another publisher that might be good to get in with is Futabsha, particularly with their imprint Monster Bunko. They're the ones that that typically pick up the popular web series from Narou(syosetu.jp), and have contests for amateur authors on there to get published. Might be a cheap license.
-
I would be interested in a lot of the titles currently suggested, though i'm happy with whatever you publish in the early stages, better to build a reputation first, maybe bringing in some of the popular LNs would boost the site before bringing in new publishers.
I'm trying everything you upload at the moment. I want this to suceed :)
also im all for Hai to Gensou no Grimgar and Sakurasou <3
-
Im at work so haven't subscribed yet. Just saw the add for this on crunchyroll news feed and Occultic;Nine was the selling point for me.
If i had to suggest one i would love to read it would be Alderamin on the Sky. There are some fan translations but they are super slow and most seem to be on hiatus :(. Plus with the anime being by Madhouse you know there won't be a second season. Haha. Its such a great story so far though.
Good job so far though :)
-
Oh and i second Violet Evergarden. Would be nice if someone tackled some of the works KyoAni publishes that no one seems to want to trsnslate.
-
How feasible would "Antimagic Academy - 35th Test Platoon" be for licensing?
Although the anime was unfortunately a disappointment in the end, it did however have a dedicated following in the underworld before then, which the anime helped to add to.
And it did represent the least cookie-cutter source material out of the comparable shows of similar genre (particularly Asterisk and Rakudai) that aired the same season, and had strong cross-appeal for viewers of those shows. Unfortunately the anime ended right where is commonly cited as the real turning point when the series starts to really show its strengths.
Though it's under Kadokawa, it might be able to be picked up on the cheap since the anime underperformed.
-
I would also be interested in Antimagic Academy and also Horizon in the Middle.
The golden egg for me would be Gundam light novels, but I imagine those aren't feasible...
-
I'd be so happy if you could just translate these novels, please:
DanMachi
No Game No Life
Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei
