Twintails
Are you sure you don't mean gender-bent characters?
Also, Ponytails Master Race.

I see you follow a different faith. Still, I believe ultimate salvation lies with our twin-tailed saviors.
-
I second the ponytail master race. I mean, look at this
Even a quitenssential twintail character looks better with a pony tail!!!
-
@paulnamida I’m a simple man. I see Rin Tohsaka, I upvote.
-
Straight hair Rin = Twintail >>>> ponytail. Fight me!
Speaking of ponytails, I still want Remake Our Life! It is Kadokawa though (I bought the first few volumes, but haven't gotten motivated to try Google Translating them).

Volume 4 spoiler (maybe)

On the topic of Ponytails, I'll request Chronicle Legion.
From the author of Campione! and the illustration abec/BUNBUN, this is an alternate history war series featuring a Japanese Empire, Rome's Caesar, and the reincarnated protagonist is of a Hero. Overall, I just want all of the author's stuff licensed. Taketsuki is really good about going deep into research for his series and it really shows. I've learned more about religion and Gods from Campione than from any other entertainment medium.
-
You probably learned a lot about kissing as well. =P
-
@terrence That's totally my favorite part of Campione! I can go a good 3 other shitty romance series without progress because of how much satisfaction Campione! gives me.
-
@aruseus493 IKR!!! The amount of research Takedzuki does for his series is amazing!!! I've always loved history and mythology so all of his series cater to all my tastes, and when he goes into obscure topics (like Phoenician and Sarmatian mythology) he totally blows my mind. I soooo want Chronicle Legion translated. The fan translation stopped at such a good point, just as I had my theories confirmed about the MC's identity!!!

Since you, guys, are talking about pony tail
Can I mention this?
Shomin sample~
Ichijinsha Bunko (Ichijinsha) (A kodansha company) -
@bloodygaikotsu That’s one I would rather read the manga for tbh, but seeing as Seven Seas doesn’t offer that digitally, I usually end up reading scanlations.
-
@legitpancake
I wonder why won't u get the physical copy tho?
I am the kind of guys who prefers physical over digital (weird saying this here in JNC forums tho)
Like I see a lot of people telling Vertical to care more about Digital market while I wanna annoy Kodansha about their Digital-only titles~lolEven tho, I don't live in US so getting the physical copies is always really expensive especially when customs here cracks down on books with any "questionable" cover
(that's why my local bookstores refused to special order Hideo Okuda's Lala Pipo for me and I am afraid that I won't even be able to get some of the future NGNL releases if they get out). -
@bloodygaikotsu as someone who prefers physical one billion times more then digital let me just say that when you run outta room for books and outta rook for more shelves it is just great that my digital bookshelf only takes up the space in my pants pocket.
-
@bloodygaikotsu Not only is space an issue, but I have a family and a social life too. I’d rather not own a book of a middle-school girl lifting up her skirt.
Even as someone who owns every volume of Berserk, I’m kinda self-conscious about that stuff. -
I had an opinion I was going to share, but as I started writing a post I kept changing my mind like every other sentence, so I'll just contribute that yeah, it's rather complicated to want to, as a person, both conform to societal norms and support things that can be easily misconstrued as being socially deviant D:
-
Luckily I was in a position to transform a large closet into a shelf, so even when I have people over no one opens a closet for no reason.
And when it comes to more “questionable content” I keep thy stuff in the attic, in a closet in the back
-
I say Screw Social Norms (and screw Guilty Pleasures); be who you want to be, do what you want to do, buy what you want to buy. Be proud of the things you like for they are what makes you, YOU! You will always have people who will understand you wither that be your friends or family or some randos on the Internet.
-
@drone205 But being who you are is always a dance. I love my job dearly but a lot of LN covers (and occult stuff I’m into) would freak out people I have as clients who come over to the apartment, so I’d rather obscure public focus on certain element of my self and instead shine the focus on more publicly acceptable stuff I also love.
That said, I went minimalist and got rid of almost all my physical media, so now there’s very little either direction for people to latch onto when they come over.
-
@the-green-death I may have been a bit excessive for what I said. I do believe having a Public self and a Private Self is perfectly fine, but do not be afraid to be yourself; there are unfortunately people who think very lowly of themselves because of the things they like. using Anime and LN to help explain my point for because I can; I think one of the main themes for Nekomonogatari (White) is basically that as well. Hanekawa tries her best to be the "Perfect Model Student" but she is hiding her inner self even from her self. Hanekawa mixed colour hair and how she dyes it is a metaphor for this.
-
@drone205 Absolutely agree with you then. I used to be inwardly embarrassed by what I liked and it caused a lot of sorrow. Now I don’t give a fuck and simply love what I love!
