Novel pick-up requests

I'd say to make separate polls based on publishers since there's stuff that can get licensed realistically, and stuff from publishers monopolized by Yen Press. Otherwise, here was my grand list of stuff I want licensed from the publishers J-NC is currently partnered with.

Eternal Wanderer

@Aruseus493 Honestly not a bad suggestion and maybe a good idea for the future but for the first poll I'd like to keep it simple. If it proves popular enough I might make make publisher specific polls in the future.

Out of curiosity how many publishers does Yen Press monopolize? The only example I can think of is Kadakawa because they own Yen Press.

sparhawk6

@Eternal-Wanderer Well, there are a couple of brand companies that belong under Kadokawa Corporation, like Media Factory, ASCII Media Works, Chukei Publishing Company, Enterbrain, Fujimi Shobo, Kadokawa Gakugei Shuppan Publishing, Kadokawa Magazines, Kadokawa Shoten.
But for example Softbank is still free and there is more of them for sure.

And Kodansha doesn´t own 51% of YP, it is Kadokawa.

Eternal Wanderer

@sparhawk6 Sorry screwed that up, in hindsight its a pretty dumb mistake, fixed now though.

Got some requests for Ichijinsha series. :3

I'd definitely buy translations for

Izure Shinwa no Ragnarok
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko
Kou-1 desu ga Isekai de Joushu Hajimemashita
Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin

Been praying for ages for these series to get any sort of translation, and since you've made true a few of my wishes already (NeeChuu and Little Apocalypse) I'm keeping my hopes up

ImIlyaz

@paulnamida you mentioned Ryuugajou!! KISS ME! :D 😂😂

Shinberoy

How about
Kusuriya no Hitorigoto
? It sounds really great and I would love to see the LN <3

I second this request. The first chapter of the manga adaptation is really good at making me want to read the Light Novel.

gonki

I super want Asobi ni Iku yo!

This (Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami) and The Story of Saiunkoku (Saiunkoku Monogatari) are the two stories I want to see official English releases for the most! Unfortunately they're both published by Kadokawa and they're both shoujo light novel series so the odds are very poor. I'm a sucker for stories that delve into fantasy politics, economics and court drama though and I'd buy anything along those lines - I really enjoy Realist Hero, for instance.

Aruseus493

Requesting The New Gate since the fan-translator has apparently been running a timed pay-wall for chapters which honestly is among the worst things you could do. :-\

Crunchyroll is getting an anime called Knight's and Magic which is based on novels?

That'd be cool to get. Some mecha in it I think.

Bakaneko

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi. I loved the anime and have always wanted to follow the story to its end. It's not Isekai or harem, so it always gets overlooked. I would buy the entire series without question.

Terrence

I forget if we have a thread for novels acquired by other pubs. Hearing there's been announcements at Anime Expo for a few things.

Noteworthy:

Elves and a Pizza Parlor
Vending Machine Reincarnation?
Possibly Goblin Slayer spin-off stuff.

Edit: Yen Press Periscope is up on their Twitter.
