Novel pick-up requests
-
I am requesting you guys to look at this novel which has garnered some good attention lately. It's even one of the top voted in the recent Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi voting in Japan.!
-
I'd like to forward Sunday Without God - the anime was great and I've heard the novels are supposed to be even better.
-
Hi translator, would u like to pick "Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri", Takumi-sensei going to make a sequel for that one, so i really like to read that one before the sequel get release. thank you ^^
-
Watching the new Justus R Stone weekly top ten from Japan.
I request:
Jacu-Chara Tomozaki-kun Vol.5
aka The Low Tier Character "Tomozaki-kun"
I immediately want this. About a guy who believes real life to be crappier than any video game he's played, but his fellow elite gamer is trying to teach him the rules of life and how it can be a great game. =]
-
Sounds like Shiro and Sora from NGL.
I've also wanted that title for some time -
@imilyaz YenPress already pick that, right?
they already release vol 1-6, vol 7 will release in february 2018 -
I want Gun-ota ga Mahou Sekai ni Tensei Shitara, Gendai Heiki de Guntai Harem o Tsukucchaimashita!?
More know as Gun-Ota
-
@aoiripper No game no life? Yea that one is already picked up.
I was comparing the protag to Shiro and Sora because they also think reality is a shitty game -

(NGNL doesn't seem to be my bag; prefer older characters / character designs; suppose I could just ignore the art and read the text; Ryou's Work is Never Done is another one I'm kind of avoiding, especially based on impressions, though the Shogi element could be intriguing).
-
@aoiripper February?? It was on October (I think) when I preordered it, then they pushed it back to December, and they delay it AGAIN?? God, I hate YP...
-
For the record, I'd love Lazy Dungeon Master as well, someone mentioned it somewhere in this thread. It's by Overlap, and we already have Arifureta, Faraway Paladin, Grimgar, and I think one or two more. :)
-
@Terrence I just finished Yuuji's backstory in the Labyrinth of Grisaia, and that's probably affecting my thinking, but if that concept was done right, it could be amazing. I'm probably thinking or wanting something far more serious than what it is though.
-
I was about to request 86, then I realized it was from Dengeki Bunko...
-
Please pick up this novel "Valhalla's Dinner" great story and comedy in it
-
@terrence I kinda dislike the childish vibe ngl gives of sometimes. But the plot is really good so I can't help myself
And how you desribed your feelings about the Ryou title is EXACTLY how I feel too, lmao.
also it's harem -
Justus did a video on Ga Sugoi magazine's rankings for light novels in Japan the past year. This list is pretty indicative of what is popular in Japan, and most of these titles make their way over in some shape or form stateside. Some really interesting stuff in there.
Part 1
Part 2
Some highlights for me of stuff that hasn't made it over.
Bunko Top 10

A Sister's All You need also made the first list; cautiously looking forward to that.
- Tsuki to Raika to Nosferatu

Still wondering when is Mushoku Tensei gonna be licensed... I mean, it's like the highest rated isekai ever (in Japan at least), but somehow Death March, So I'm a Spider and That Time I Reincarnated into a Slime got licensed earlier. It doesn't make sense to me, even though the manga has already been licensed, so it can't be some weird stance like "we don't like our MC to be a little kid having the mind of a 30 year old lusting after childs" since the manga is already out...
-
@paulnamida Don't forget that licensing is a two-way street; there needs to be both someone interested in localizing on the English side, and someone willing to play ball on the Japanese side. I'm sure the English side is very aware of the interest in Mushoku Tensei, but perhaps the license holders have been difficult or unresponsive.

I'm having a blast with yume nikki and Ao oni since it was a good breather for me to deviate from the conventional light novel newfangled tropes, therein i would love j-novel to take another bet with licensing more books of this caliber (Horror with a twist of mystery),and the foremost two candidates that i would like to see are:THE WITCH’S HOUSE – DIARY OF ELLEN/ALICE MARE,apparently, said novels had a very positive feedback on amazon,so yeah please bestow upon my request a modicum of consideration onigaishimasu!(Bows frantically)

THE WITCH’S HOUSE – DIARY OF ELLEN
ALICE MAREAlways welcome to some horror recs (I hope J-Novel folks are receptive to them too). I'll take a look at these later. Actually, is Alice Mare based on an Indie game? That's on STEAM. (Looked up the other one; it also is based on the game The Witch's House).
(I'm sure I want them though if they're dark; Any sort of Corpse Party style books, where characters can and will perish in a spooky setting would be great). :ghost: :jack_o_lantern: :shinto_shrine: :scream:
I'm going to be definitely downloading the two horror novels with premium creds.
I've mentioned some before, but I want:
Shiki - One of the best classic horror stories in anime form. The book has gotta be interesting.
Danganronpa Zero - I believe this is two novels. It's a pretty important story that I don't think has been told in English officially. Others have also recommended the Kirigiri novels.
Shin Sekai No Yori - I've heard the anime and the books diverge a good deal. The manga is out in English, but I think I would prefer to read the books.
Only I Am Not Attacked In A World Overflowing With Zombies (mentioned above)
And the mystery twins
Subete Ga No F: The Perfect Insider series of novels.
Beautiful Bones: Sakurako-san's Investigation (/ A Corpse Lies Beneath Sakurako-san's Feet).
