Novel pick-up requests

On another note, anyone know anything about the Lightning Bunko label from Kadokawa? Those books don't seem to have color inserts, at least in the digital releases. Why is that?
Dengeki Bunko samples on BookWalker rarely if ever include the pictures. The books themselves do, but you have to judge the art based on the cover alone.
The one to watch out for is Shueisha’s Super Dash Bunko which are text-only with even the cover removed (despite the cover still being included on the store listing).

The New Gate would be a nice title to pick up and I don’t believe anyone else has lice can it.
Thanks

The New Gate is Alphapolis so unlikely: https://curiouscat.me/jnovelclub/post/296143554

Dang. I gotta keep them in mind when buying novels that I don't think will make it stateside. Iirc, New Gate is a bit imposing volume count wise though.
Speaking of making it stateside, do you guys think Mommy Isekai will make it over? I only picked up one volume so far between this and one of the "29 year old" Isekai.

@terrence I remember a while back Sam said the Mom Isekai was in a bidding war. Maybe Yen or some other company is gonna announce a license soon?

I remember when he (jokingly?) said Vending Machine was in a bidding war too... And then Yen Press got it. Dunno how to take his comments sometimes, serious or not, ha ha.

It's been mentioned at least once before but I want to toss a vote for Legendary Moonlight Sculptor. Being a Korean series probably presents a new set of challenges but it looks more promising than most LN's I've checked out.

I was really surprised that Yen Press got that Vending Machine Reincarnation LN, it seems interesting but also weird, though it's not too different from those series about reincarnating into a sword, a spider, and a slime. But still, reborn as a modern food/drink dispenser in another world, seriously?
And also, any way to look up on that "bidding war"? Is that how series are chosen to be officially translated?
-
@kite-xx for what it is worth Volume 1 of reincarnated as a spider was aMaZiNg, like just super duper great.
Reincarnated as a slime was also quite enjoyable.
As for the bidding war reference
It was just in reference to @Terrence saying everyone is talking about isekai but we still don’t have vending machine.
Not all novels go into a bidding war just a few exceptions where multiple overseas companies have interest in the same title.
If a title goes into a bidding war it is gonna come over stateside one way or another.
-
I used to joke about the vending machine one whenever anyone complained about yet another isekai getting licensed... imagine my surprise when it actually got licensed xD I should start joking about Ryuugajou Nanana...
-
Just would like to add my support to hopefully see Saekano translated one day.

I can't believe that High School DxD have never been fully published in English. Any interest in picking up the series?

Any interest in picking up <Boku to Tsundere to Heidegger>?
Synopsis:
Author Junji Hotta has blessed the world with “Tsundere, Heidegger, and Me”, a tour de force of European philosophy… in a world where all the philosophers are self-conscious anime girls. The main character, reincarnated as a high school student after a fatal accident, is summoned by the 7 characters for secret after-school lessons. According to the ITmedia: “Decartes is a haughty princess, Nietzsche is yandere, Heidegger is a long-haired cultural club leader.”

Hey, that's like that composers reincarnated show that got two seasons (Classicaloid?)

Requesting Exterminator. Been reading the fan-scanlations of the manga and the recent chapters look like the story went from a relaxing 3 in speed to 10 in rushing through content. So it'd be nice to be able to enjoy a slice of life series in how it's intended to be enjoyed.
The general premise is that MC ends up in another world where he decides to continue living as he did before, as an Exterminator. It's a fun slice of life where we see him do jobs like exterminating rats, wasps, and roaches with a magical twist. MC is super relaxed about everything and very my-pace. There are 6 volumes out in Japan at the moment.

If J-Novel Club had the resources to pick-up most (at least 90%) to all these suggested titles, this is how I see it happening: it's revenue is at least $1 billion/year and they had 7500+ people on the payroll (this counts staff and contracted workers). The ones that are more likely to get picked up are the ones that are mentioned the most and from companies that already have a great rapport with this site.

I have made a few posts about picking up newer series and older long series now I have a new thing to say. Picking up Niche series would be a good idea. With JNC being pure E-Book once the translation is done, that is where the money goes to since you are not paying for the physical books(if there are any other payments with E-Books I don't know of them). Since with Physical books, you need to pay for every book that is made you could lose money if the series is not popular. but with E-Book the money to make Physical books are cut so if it is not popular it is not as big of a loss. Though I feel like JNC are already doing this to some extent since JNC has books that Yen-On and other companies certainly would not have Licenced (at the time they were). I just want Diversity and as much as possible. and one more point I would like Translations of LN that have no Translation of any kind or a chaotic translation schedule or is dropped by bored fan Translations.
