Sugar Apple Fairy Tale (Suggestion for JNC Heart) [Licensed by Yen Press]
-
@nofairytale It's even by the same author, so there's that. Granted, it's got a lot of volumes so it's riskier overall, so hopefully CCCF does well so that the whole "same author" appeal has some weight to it.
-
@stardf29 Maybe this is a sign. By the way, Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower is complete with 11 volumes, so it wouldn't be much more volumes for Sugar Apple Fairy Tale (only 6).
-
@Liber-Monstrorum I wouldn't say "only 6" more volumes; that's still a fair amount and over 1.5x as much as CCCF. So it's still a significantly higher investment that would need to be justified (like with good sales of CCCF).
-
@stardf29 If Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower sells well, we don't need to worry about that. @Sam-Pinansky must have had something on his mind, when he licensed this novel. Maybe this novel is a side product of another novel he wanted the license from this publisher.

I love Sugar Apple Fairy Tale!!! The manga adapts only the first volume of the novel and I really would like to know how the story continues. Please license it!!!
-
I'll be interested in reading this title.
-
I came here to request this.
The manga is cute (it's illustrated by the same person who did Vengeful White Cat in the Dragon King's Lap, if I recall correctly) and both the manga and light novel pair would be a decent shoujo series to replace the former now that the novel's done.
I actually own the complete Sugar Apple series on Japanese Kindle, even though I cannot read it (I tried using Google Translate before I gave up...)
It's really, REALLY cute.
Pleeeeeease?

Good news! This is getting an anime despite the LN finishing 6 years ago. Also, I had no idea that Culinary Chronicles is from the same author.

Maybe this means we can finally see this licensed 🙏

Hopefully J-Novel Club will finally license this novel now.

I was so excited to see the revived interest for this series!! Fan translations only went up to volume 2… it’s a cute series! New anime, new manga adaptation (a second manga series!)… hope J novel club will re-consider licensing this series :)
-
I was so sad when there were no more volumes fantranslated than up to volume 2. It‘s great that the light novel will receive an anime adaption and another manga adaption! I already enjoyed the manga by Alto Yukimura, so I hope the new manga adaption will be good too!!! And I‘m looking so, so forward to the anime, I can‘ wait!!!
This novel is the reason why I registered here in the first place, I already enjoy reading Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower, my biggest wish and hope now is that J-Novel Club will also license Sugar Apple Fairy Tale!!! Please, please don‘t let it be just a wishful dream!!!!!! -
Yen Press will do a simulpub of the new manga adaptation: https://twitter.com/yenpress/status/1454114817095110666

@hyperion Just great. That probably means that they snatched the novel too... I sooo wanted J-Novel Club to license the novel.😢😭
-
I hope that Yen doesn't have the novel. I find that they have been doing decent work, but I prefer the amazing work done by the team here at JNovel.
-
@jampodevral Yeah, me too. In my eyes, J-Novel Club is the best!!!
-
@jampodevral @Liber-Monstrorum Same here.
By the way, the raws of the first chapter of the new manga adaption are out.^^ Unfortunately it‘s no drawing style like Yui Kikuta‘s, but similar with the two The Apothecary Diaries manga the new manga adaption takes a different and interesting approach.
I‘m thinking of buying the raws of the new manga adaption to support the author and artist.
-
@jeweledpoisonousbutterfly Really? I will check it out! If it‘s good, I will buy the manga too.^^
-
It's really interesting how different both manga adapt the light novel. I think it's worth reading both, the new manga adaption is especially exiting, since it will probably adapt more than only the first light novel volume.
A comparison of the old manga with the new one:

I so, so love this novel!!! A dream would come true if it would get licensed, especially by J-Novel Club (since they already licensed Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower, which is by the same author, wouldn‘t the chances be higher for J-Novel Club to get the license?)!!! And I‘m so happy that an anime and another manga adaption were announced, hopefully this will boost the novel’s chances for getting licensed too.
