Novel: 1 volume (Complete); 2 volume sequel (Complete)
Manga: 2 volumes (ongoing)MU (for manga), Amazon JP, Sequel
Summary:
A doctor who believes that people with terminal illness should be allowed to die a peaceful death at a time of their own choosing and a doctor who will not give up on fighting for his patients no matter how hopeless the disease... What happens when these two men clash?
Why I Want It:
I happened to stumble on this while looking around and it immediately sounded like something I'd love to read. The book(s) seem like they'd be a very thought-provoking, poignant read. On which side would you fall if you had a terminal illness: accept your death or fight it to the very end? One of those dilemmas that falls in the gray area, with no right or wrong answer.Another reason this book caught my attention was because it has a high rating on Amazon Japan: 4.5 stars with 350 ratings. Other reasons I want it include: that it is published by TO Books, which J-Novel Club has a relationship with; it is short and complete, and it continues my quest for more Japanese novels that aren't light novels, like I Want to Eat Your Pancreas.

TO books has a great catalog. I hope some of their stuff can catch on or find a solid amount of niche audience.
The covers here of course look beautiful and that synopsis sounds intriguing (screw that cancer or whatever other terminal diseases cut down folks in their prime).

Sounds really interesting!

As a physician this would be an instant buy, if anything just to see how a novelist tackles this moral dilemma.
