As much as Sam says that sci-fi series don’t sell well in Japan, I always hope that it’s just a matter of finding a series with that secret sauce. Let’s hope this one fits the bill.

I’ve actually purchased a few of the JP raws for this series due to the interesting (historical) premise, from what I could make of the blurb. But unfortunately it sits in my Bookwalker reader’s bookshelf as mere display items since I can’t actually read the contents in Japanese.

Stories set in historical eras in Japan would be something I’m interested in.

I did some MTL reading of the web novel a year ago or so. This would be a good pick up.

Things could always have changed, but in a past Q&A Sam indicated that they’re not interested in licensing these anthologies. So don’t get your hopes up.

@Shiroi-Hane I took the kanji from another site and translated it with DeepL, so I probably missed the commas when copying it. I thought it was just mistranslation lol

I'll give this a bump since it seems interesting, but it looks like it may have stalled. Nothing's come out since vol 5 and even the syosetu web version stopped updating in 2021.

The manga for this series is so good! It'd be cool for the LN to get licensed too!

As a physician this would be an instant buy, if anything just to see how a novelist tackles this moral dilemma.
