Books/Preorders missing from Amazon

If moving illustrations to the back stopped takedowns, that means it's not Amazon content reviewers but jagoffs trawling the Kindle Previews and mass reporting that's the cause here.
I suspect that it's based on complaints, from folks that did not buy the ebooks- just looking at previews (or responding to a list they were fed)
I don't have any evidence to support my supposition other than my lack of faith in humanity

@Zehd - a "family-friendly" edition of LDM 1 that still includes slavery, rape of slaves (the bird woman purchased by the bandits), murder carried out by both bandits and the protagonist?
Inigo Montoya would like a word with you :)

Mixed Bathing in Another Dimension: Volume 3 has now been removed from Amazon Kindle.
-
It isn't exactly the right terminology, but it could fit. JNC could always use some terminology from the audiobook industry and these are terms all over amazon and audible.
abridged and unabridged
-
@HarmlessDave - Didn't you notice? Every page had been removed except the TOC, the disclosure, and the Copyright at the end. The only iffy thing left (after the advertisement got removed by @db0ssman ) would be the cover image, and that would have been replaced with just an plain image of the text spelling the title of the book.

completely removed or you can just not buy it?
-
@saskir As far as I know, you just can't buy it, but existing owners can still download it.
-
I was able to pick up all 12 volumes for
Infinite Stratos -- Infinitto Sutoratosu -- インフィニット・ストラトス
on Google Play.
I guess bye bye Amazon.
I guess I will transfer my Amazon credits over to Google Play...
I am also told good alternatives to Amazon are Book Walker and Kobo, since they are japaneese owned and so would not cave to SJW or whoever/whatever is causing Amazon to drop Japanes Light Novels left and right. -
All I know is amazon lost alot in book sales from me, switching to direct JNC for what they got and kobo for what they don't. I know I won't be hurting them with my absence but I'm sure at some point everyone will be fed up.
-
Considering that Japanese Anime/Manga/LN are getting more popular rly fast they will lose lots of money. I have Kindle but it is easy to install different app and read stuf there. I buy quite a lot of books. If I like something I just buy whole series. If they do not like my bussines I just switch like I did with Gillete :)
-
In will be switching to direct JNC as well as I previously stated. As for either Book Walker or Kobo, I have some BW titles, but no Kobo titles. I will have to buy one and make my decision then. As for anime and hard covers of light novel's and manga, I will be buying from Rightstuf. They are independently owned and will not carry edited versions. Just my 2 cents worth.

Amazon are Book Walker and Kobo, since they
Kobo is a Canadian company that is a subsidiary of a Japanese company who's major distributors are American companies. So, if w/e is effecting Amazon is being caused by American laws or SJW politics, it is unlikely that it wouldn't affect Kobo too.

This is a bit off topic but...
@lighthawk96 Careful with pre-orders with RightStuf, don't put multiple pre-orders in same order, especially with significant time between release dates. Unless you don't care when you get your items. Typically they will not ship any item until the last is released.
My first order from them I tried to do so to save on shipping and had some pre-orders releasing earliest in October and latest in February or March. I did get 2 of my 6 items "early". Both in December (released in November) got them about a week apart, separate shipments. The rest were after the last item released.
Supposedly the system is automated and no amount of contacting customer service will get them to ship released items in your order.

They will often ship stuff when it's ready prior to your entire order being ready, but there's no guarantee that they will. According to the FAQ on their subreddit, it depends on the workload of their warehouse: https://www.reddit.com/r/RightStufAnime/comments/gf7hbn/shipping_and_fulfillment_faq/

@Khaos Rightstuf does alright with mixed stock/pre-orders. And their CS people can be very helpful, like when you mistakenly pre-order two of something, because you forgot about the previous order, and didn't log in while filling your cart... (but that NEVER happens! Really!)
Maybe we should have a "Vendor Experience" topic? Or maybe one already exists...
-
I mean you say that, but that was not my experience at all. I don't mind them, and I still buy from them, I just don't pre-order with any large difference in release dates.
-
@Khaos
LMFAO!😂🤣Yeah. Been there and done that! I've been doing business with Rightstuf for many years now and I'm very well aware of their shipping peculiarities. I still get all of my anime from them. I stopped getting LN and Anime due to the fact that I went digital and they don't do digital. YET! I'm sure with all that is going on they might rethink this but I do appreciate the warning. Hopefully anyone else that is out there will read this and be made aware of this.

I've personally never had a bad customer service issue with RSA. They are very helpfull and always on point with everything. Just saying since I've been dealing with them since the early 2000's.
-
@lighthawk96 One thing not to do... Never ask your financial program to total up how much you've spent with a particular anime/manga/novel vendor over the years... else you might find out that it is somewhat more than the $43K SUV you bought...
-
@SomeOldGuy Wow, and I thought my 10K with Kindle (both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.jp) was bad...
