Books/Preorders missing from Amazon
-
@BartzBB But it's not just JNC at this point; No Game No Life is Yen Press... though it wouldn't be a surprise if Amazon still has it out for Hachette.
-
@LegitPancake Some "How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord" physicals are still available, but all kindle books have been removed. Some of them have been actually totally purged, with their pages being completely inaccessible (6, 7, 8 and 10)
-
"There Was No Secret Evil-Fighting Organization (srsly?!), So I Made One Myself!" git taken down too.
-
@Lotteliese I don't even see how anyone could possibly find anything objectionable of note with "There Was No Secret Evil-Fighting Organization (srsly?!), So I Made One Myself!", if that's why we think some of these are being flagged. No sex, minimal violence, I haven't seen the finished book (just the prepubs) but it doesn't strike me as the type to have super scantily clad females in the color pages...
-
@yumenokage One of the colored pics is two naked girls bathing.
These are all colored pics that would have appeared in the Amazon preview:
There Was No Secret Evil-Fighting Organization - Volume 1: girls bathing. Volume 2: girl bathing, bikini girl
Potion Loli - Volume 4 color pic is girls bathing
Clockwork Planet - Volume 1: girl with open pajamas
The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan - Volume 1: Girl showering, Volume 4: Naked girl, Volume 5: girl bathing
No Game No Life & How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord: I don't think I have to explain these two, lol.
Arifureta - Volume 6: Girl in bikini
Infinite Stratos - Volume 8 has girls bathing.
Seirei Gensouki - Volume 4 has girls bathing
Mixed Bathing Volume 6 and Lazy Dungeon Master Volume 2 - Don't have either of these series. Anyone know if there's any fanservice color pics?
The question is, will changing all the digital books so that the color pics are in the back of the volume rather at the beginning solve this issue for Amazon?

And in volume 2, there's a naked underage-looking girl, her naughty bits covered in little clouds of steam.

I am kinda wondering why novels are getting hit like this, their really is no reason that light novels should be taken down when I can buy manga like this no problem.
-
@Eternal-Wanderer Or Berserk ebooks which feature gratuitous rape and sex, nudity, gore, lolis, and everything else in between.
-
I still don't get why Bakarina gets hit as well at the start. It's as innocent as Bakarina herself when she stuttered at the mention of things father and mother do at night.
-
@Eternal-Wanderer Hey, no dissing TLRD until I get the last three (English) volumes in paperback! :)
Novels being "singled out" could be just a few people (maybe even just one) filing complaints with Amazon. As I pointed out in a related topic, there are some serious differences in what constitutes an illegal depiction of nudity between countries.
-
@SomeOldGuy Sorry if it seemed like I was insulting To-Love-Ru. That wasn't my intention, I'm actually a big fan of it. I was just using it as an example to show Amazon's hypocrisy.
-
@Village-Idiot Lazy Dungeon Master vol.2 has girls bathing as well. It definitely seems like this could be a major part of it, though with some of them it's still a bit of a mystery. For Greatest Magicmaster, not sure why the entire series would be purged.

I have a somehwhat similar issue with Amazon and JNC content, not sure if there is a more appropriate forum to bring this up...
The Ascendence Of A Bookworm Manga Vol 4 is the wrong content. The cover is correct, but the contents of the book are from "An Arch Demon's Dilemma: How to love your Elf Bride". I reported this to Amazon some time ago, but nothing has been fixed, and I wonder whether I should report it on this forum instead.
I would really like to continue supporting Bookworm, so I haven't asked for a refund, but I have no interest in Arch Demon.
-
@unknownmat I just checked and everything looks correct from our end. If you've tried redownloading the file and it's not updating, you'll need to contact Amazon customer service to have them trigger the updated file for your account. Kindle doesn't automatically let you download updated files for some reason.

Thanks for the response. Was this an issue that other people reported?
I just tried deleting it from my device and redownloading, but it is still the wrong content. When I first spoke with Amazon some months back they issued me a refund and removed the book from my library, but when I re-purchased it I had the same issue. I can try doing it again if you have reason to believe it will be different this time.
-
@unknownmat It appears to have been an issue back when the volume first came out. The issue was reported and corrected. Based on the below thread anyone who purchased volumen while the version with the incorrect content was available would have gotten an email explaining how to push the updated version out to their devices from Amazon.

The more time goes by the less I use Amazon. They treat their employees like garbage, customers like garbage and vendors like garbage.
Have I missed something in the secret organization series? I didn't think it had anything in it to trip up the Puritanical cultists into flagging it.

Both volumes have color images of girls bathing who could be interpreted as young would be my guess.

Is there a generic ticket (or term) we could refer to when complaining to Amazon? It may do no good, but I have to at least try expressing my concerns to them.

This is a little speculation on my part, but given that most LN are listed as YA which means targetted for 12yo to 17yo, they might be more strict on what's included in previews. I'm not sure when posting Manga if you have to have categories listed like that, so it might be less likely to flag the stricter guidelines.
