@Village-Idiot I've never read the manga, but the anime has no less than five separate sexual assault scenes so far. I don't think it should be pulled by any means, but it's certainly not family friendly.

Well moving the colored pics for all their series to the back of the volume may be a good idea for both safety reasons and to save time from dealing with this issue again in the future. Hopefully though that their premium release will still have the colored images at the front.

@LegitPancake said in Books/Preorders missing from Amazon:

            Oh ffs, now Kobo?

Okay the J-Novel twitter replied, but Sam said
"This time it WAS due to user complaint, but I think with some changes like moving the color images out of the preview and categorizing them as erotica they should be accepted.
            Kobo's email was pretty clear."

Does this mean that ONLY the previews will have missing illustrations and the E-Book itself will still contain the illustration?

            1st - Rokujouma
            2nd - Realist Hero
            3rd - Bookworm

@BartzBB If you move it to the back, then yes. Else they would have mentioned a removal.

I find it concerning that Kobo also follows. Thought Canadians would be more liberal. Makes me wonder who will be next. Book Depository was not surprising as Amazon bought them.

Any news on How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord?
Right now it's only available from Nook and BookWalker on PC aside from here.

Also, might like to add BookWalker links to the volume pages of that, as it's only listed for the latest volume here while the whole series is available on BW.

I think it is time for the theories to stop here.

Going forward this topic will only be about what books are being taken off various stores.

At the end of the day it is a news topic, meant to inform.

Sorry but J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing decision or acquisitions.

@Rahul-Balaggan - since this is now 12 pages long and filled with many side discussions, would it make sense to lock it and start over with a more focused topic? Perhaps with a complete listing in the first post?

                              @HarmlessDave

RE: locking I will consider, I still do not want to do that because this is an ongoing issue and people will want to comment if more is taken down.

The opening post is complete in regards to e-books, the only thing not there is the physical books being taken off of bookdepository, and the recent Kobo take downs, which should hopefully be resolved soon.

For now I believe that we have hopefully entered a period of calm in this topic, so it should be fine for now...

Ironic that I get censored in a topic about censorship. I guess that's what having the wrong opinion gets you.

And before you claim I was off topic I was responding to a similarly off topic post (which is still not censored)... so make of that what you will.

@Jason-Maranto We don't know why the books were taken down because we were given no reason. If you want to discuss politics, please take it elsewhere.

do we know if this is on Amazon in USA only (or is amazon.uk, amazon.nz ) whatever still listing these? I saw that they are still available in Japan, but what about other countries where English is common?

The opening post does cover that:

                                        Amazon Region Restrictions
These books have been REGION-RESTRICTED; they still appear as LIVE on KDP, but are only available on amazon.co.jp. The store listings still exist on other Amazon regions, but they say they cannot be purchased. We have not been informed of why this occurred or what can be done to have the region restriction lifted.

So I have a question. Is Kobo Canadian owned or Japanese owned? I have seen it stated as both but which is It? Book Walker as far as I have seen is 100% Japanese owned but I am confused on Kobo's ownership.

@lighthawk96 It began as a Canadian company and was purchased by the Japanese Rakuten corporation. So... while it's owned by a Japanese corporation, I think functionally it's Canadian.
