Btw, just a reminder that the Blog/News page still has test data around: https://j-novel.club/blog ;)

The prepub reading interface is by far the most important aspect for the site so I'll start there.
It's nice to see the full screen on my 12.9" iPad pro being used as well as swipe gestures for turning pages rather than buttons however there doesn't appear to be a way of increasing the font size and the default is way too small.
A sepia/brown background theme would be nice for readability.
A selection of font choices would be nice. Including some serif fonts, something like Georgia for readability.

Looks visually better is first impression.

I was quite surprised by the rework of the website; it would have been nice to have expected the change
There's been announcements about it every once in a while; it's not like the plans were on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying "Beware of the Leopard"...

only thing i miss is the "Upcoming Soon" section of the old site saying how long till X or Y part/volume is coming up, and re-sizing text in the reader
-
@SoullessMinion Yeah the countdown was interesting but it was inaccurate as it rounded to the nearest 30 minutes for the calculation if the release part was more than 1 hour away. If you click on the new calendar you will see a clock with a time on it next to the title that now shows the time it will release local to your timezone. It's more accurate in my mind. For example, it is 6:51 PM central time and Instant Death Cheat Vol. 4, part 6 shows to be releasing for me in 19 hours. That is "correct" if you round the time to 7 PM CST and add 19 hours. (I've noticed that Death Cheat usually comes out for me at 2 PM local time, but it was never explicitly stated). Now on the calendar page it says 15th Monday 14:00 so I know it is planning on coming out at 2 PM on Monday local time.

Just a reminder to check the first post in this topic for known issues/high priority changes that we have already identified!

Oh interesting...
Not going to lie, there is no telling how long the new site could have been live before I'd have noticed without this post having been updated and catching my eye. I use the beta app to read everything and come directly to the forums for discussions. Pretty sure the only time I ever go to the main site is to pick up credits/books and I tend to do that in chunks every so often π

safari on ipad mini - the "page fit" option in the manga reader doesn't seem to do anything. I set it to "fit width" or "fit height" and I see the "settings saved" message, but nothing seems to change. It seems stuck on 'fit height' which is difficult to read on a smaller device screen.

@Terabyte As mentioned, easy links to user RSS feeds (or series RSS feeds) is something that will be added. You can follow the scheme mentioned in this topic or DM me on the JNC Discord if you would like that URL.
Blog emptied now, thank you for reminding us.@TheGrimLich the redirect bug is fixed.
@xdrfiredogx Work will continue on the new app once the beta site has stabilized

Blog emptied now, thank you for reminding us.I certainly remember that, but I thought it was only for "while the new site's still in beta". I'll just go ahead and follow the scheme in that previous post then. π

On MacOS, Safari 14.01 works, but with Safari 13.1.2, it never finish loading and I see the following error. Maybe same issue with iOS 13 other people are seeing?

Working around by using chrome.

The new (buy - apply credit - download) popup is great! It's much easier than going to 3 separate pages and doing another search on the library to get the download link.

Ah well. I guess I have an attention span on par with Zaphod Beeblebrox the 0th.
I visited the forums because of the change: I suspect that I would have seen it if I did visit more regularly. I really only look at the title of the front page and then read the content if the title catches my attention since I am usually more interested in the calendar and title pages.
At any rate, while I like the changes, I enjoy complaining and needed something about which to complain since they did not leave much else (if excluding the laundry list of "wants").

This likely to be data issue with a specific series, but posting here anyway since it is related to the new functionality. I tried to "follow" Ascendance of a Bookworm (Manga) series. In the calendar, I see that the older volumes from Part 1 are followed, but the latest volume from Part 2 Volume 1 is not.
Looks like they are not connected as a same series. So when I change calendar to "Followed Title only", upcoming chapters are not displayed.

I like the new design, very clean and professional looking.
My one concern is that it might be too clean on the calendar page ... I feel the lack of the Cover Art being shown here makes it harder to discover new titles when they pop-up, quickly visually find titles that I am currently interested in, along with the feeling that the page might be a bit too sterile.
As someone that sort of lived off your old "Coming soon" sidebar, I think adding the cover art to the calendar section would kelp a lot. But over all I like everything else. Good Job A+.

Works! Thank you for quick response.

Most of the time I hate it when Websites change. It's usually too flashy and uses too much javascript and less of the fundamentals that make a good web site.
I like this change. It's simple and easy to navigate and read.
