Regarding missing/modified titles from Amazon
-
@texaswolf Unfortunately, we don't know what happened and only found out about it being unavailable late Friday. We need more information, but given that it's the weekend I doubt we'll hear anything until tomorrow at the earliest.
-
@myskaros It's back on amazon, so whatever it was, it was solved...
-
It's not just books that Amazon is burning, they're going after the chocolate covered cherries too. The faceless algorithms rule just like at Google:
Meanwhile I can still find endless "2 Terabyte" USB sticks for $20 from FakeCapacityStikForYou and ItsAFaaaaaaake
-
Sorry if someone else brought this up but I recently decided I wanted the physical version of How not to Summon a Demon Lord so I went to Amazon and saw that for whatever reason about half the books in the series are no longer available in physical format. What's going on here?
-
@eternal-wanderer it is probably amazon being censor happy they got rid of the first ten volumes of Yuuna and the haunted hotsprings so i suggest buying the series from Barnes and Nobel or Rightstuf i believe you can still buy them from those store fronts

Whats the deal with the master of ragnarock on kindle device store. Only 5 volumes are showing up and one is a manga. Its been like this for a few days now. Alls on a side note does anybody know whats up with the next volume of didint i say to make my abilities average in the next life. It shows up but sais unavailable and no release date for it at all. I know the series isint jnc but i dont know where else to ask.
-
@apairon
Yeah, that series is published by Seven Seas (or Airship, or whatever label they're using right now). The print version of Abilities Average volume 14 has been listed as mid-February 2022 availability for several months now, but they've yet to list the Kindle version. Seven Seas sometimes doesn't list volumes for prepurchase until about a month before their release, unlike YenOn/Press/Whatever which lists stuff nearly 6 months in advance, then just slips dates as needed. The Abilities Average spin-off novel was just recently released, so I don't expect to see vol 14 until early next year.
Lily's Miracle spin-off, released 10/20 IIRC

Vol 15 paperback listing

-
@korppi Lily's an original character created for the spin-off.
(Which by the way is a nice, entertaining read that felt more like reading a normal novel than serialized fiction, in that the story has a more cohesive structure with a beginning, middle and end, with defined character arcs as well, rather than being a series of smaller or larger arcs that follow each other more or less haphazardly.)
-
@korppi In addition to being an original character, it's a different author. Although a "lost" character makes a reappearance as part of Lily's party.
-
@apairon Unfortunately, we're not sure what you're talking about as far as only 5 volumes showing up, but Master of Ragnarok was one of the series affected by the mass takedowns on Amazon last year, so that could have affected the series's search results.
We recommend you access the Kindle links through our website directly:
https://j-novel.club/series/the-master-of-ragnarok-blesser-of-einherjar
Each volume has a "Buy" button that has a working link to the Amazon Kindle listing. I just checked them all myself and they're all up.

Maybe he meant the manga links, the light novel links to amazon on here work as far as I tested, but every link listed here for TMoRBoE manga gives Page Not Found on amazon.
Sure, they ARE listed on amazon...most of them, volume 4 is missing in action...
Here's a link to search results of volumes(manga) 1-3, 5-6 , but the urls don't seem to match the ones here on jnovel;
The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar (Manga) -
@korppi Oh, gotcha. I'll let the team know about that.
-
@myskaros sorry that i was not clear enough. Im talking about when i do a search on my kindle oasis only 5 volumes show up no matter how i phrase the search. When i said device search i meant on my oasis. I found the volume on amazons website but was worried about pre ordering them from the website. I normaly just search titles directly from my oasis and im not realy up on where else i can get information. Is there anything we can do about the search results on kindle devices? Using my ancient phone is not pleasent
-
@korppi We've migrated the manga over to PublishDrive (our aggregator service) over the last couple months, but it looks like the website hadn't been updated along the way. I did a huge batch update on Thursday evening, so all the links should be working now.

I read the post and the replies and I have a question.
Affected series and all new series have the illustrations at the back of the e-books, which I understand was necessary to prevent Amazon taking them down based on the images. But if one of these new series gets a paperback version (for example My Friend's Little Sister Has It In For Me), are the images placed at the front of the book again?
Because I would rather have the images be in the front of the book for a paperback version, just like the Japanese book. And there is no preview online for paperback books which would show the images.

The only thing I can think of in regard to that is it would then require two 'master files', one for the physical and one for the digital versions.
I could be wrong about that, of course, not being a publishing world insider. It might be possible to maintain one 'master file' and have output switches which determine the placement of the 'grouped images' fore or aft based upon the 'printing' method to be used, but even then, more work would be involved on the part of the publisher without strong evidence that it would positively impact revenues. -
@myneferd The images being at the back only affects the ebooks, as far as I can tell. Physicals will still have images at the front as usual. I don’t own Friend’s Little Sister, but I’m 99% sure it was released with images at the front.
-
@legitpancake So the images are probably in the front. Thank you for the answer.
-
For anyone else who had the same question as I did: I can now 100% confirm the color illustrations are at the front of the paperback books.
Recently, I found the paperback edition of My Friend's Little Sister Has It In For Me in an anime store in my country. I opened it up, and the images were in the front of the book.
I was quite surprised to find this book, because manga and light novels aren't sold in bookstores in my country. Only English manga is sold in some of the few niche comic book stores/anime stores here. You can barely find light novels in these stores, so it was a strange coincidence that the light novel of My Friends Little Sister was even there in the first place.
