Here's a spin-off series of that, that's easier to pickup and enjoy, but with 10 times the crack.

Easy to pickup and read.
Mostly one-shot chapters that showcase the fun comedic craziness this series has to offer.
Satisfies that harem itch the main Light Novels don't have time for.

For the Manga in Japan, it had an Anime Blu-Ray/DvD exclusive volume of the same name (Memory Records Of Bastard Magic Instructor) that adapted various chapters of this series. They then re-released those chapters in Volumes 8 to 12 of the Manga. So technically yes and no.

There is 1 original side story that's basically the past of a certain character from the anime. It's a more detailed version of what the anime depicted.

Commenting on old posts is fine, hopefully not too old though.
For licensing requests it is ok no matter how old, as new users come to the site they may wish to show their support for requests made long ago.
This title that is being recommended is a spin-off, so I would say it is appropriate to make a new topic, as has been done.
