A new series by the author of the popular work "Lazy Dungeon Master" has started!Tact, who developed "Status Magic" at the tender age of eight, was certified as a special class mage and became known throughout the kingdom. However, he is appalled when he sees his status. "My MP is only '5'...!?" At the age of fifteen years old, Tact enters the academy through the back door with mana below cut-off level. In a situation where if his ability is found out he will be expelled from school and face ruin, Tact challenges his school life full of lies with his strong and cute disciple and maid Maruka and other unique heroines!
Why License it:
This series has a fun premise. The protagonist, Tact Octoval, comes from a family of powerful mages entrusted to protect the kingdom. However, after he invents the "Status Magic" spell, he finds out that he only has 5 MP. As the next heir apparent of the Octoval line he wants to quietly retire to a wand making workshop with his half-elf maid, Maruka. Before he can do that he will have to enter the magic academy and graduate without anyone finding out about is low MP cap. Fortunately, he has Maruka, with her 5000+ MP, attend the academy with him. This is a funny series with tons of comedic misunderstandings. The author has world building similar to his previous titles, but plays with a new world distinct from his previous entries. There is no web novel version for his title, so J-Novel Club doesn't have to worry about stopping unwanted web novel fan translations.Also @Sam-Pinansky did mention that he licensed Lazy Dungeon Master based on the cute illustrations. So see one of the cute illustrations below.

They almost never bother doing so anyway... why bother fighting them when outpacing them is so much easier?
(Though it doesn't seem like any of the other Japanese-to-English publishers have actually managed to make that work...)

@piisfun I think one of the fan translators for LDM was actually monitored by J-Novel Club so they only stuck to the web novel and removed the offending light novel portions. Even if that didn't take much money, that did waste time, which for a publisher amounts to the same thing. But yeah they do have this rare ability to produce high quality translations at an astonishing rate. And if you purchase from their site directly, it seems even cheaper than others as well. It's almost spooky.

@morbelek This one seems promising

@Thecardq really hope this one is as good as LDM, worldbuilding LNs are my type of drug
