While getting ready to bid farewell to 2022, round out your year with these catchup series!

Have you been enjoying the Bibliophile Princess anime? If so, check out the source novels now! Princess Elianna is quiet and awkward, preferring to bury herself in books to socializing. But when she sees her fiancé Prince Christopher having a dalliance with another lady, she becomes caught in a conspiracy that runs far deeper than she could have imagined! Keep an eye out for the launch of volume 6 very soon as well!

One of our most popular newer series, My Quiet Blacksmith Life in Another World stars Eizo, a computer programmer who is rewarded for saving a deity. Now given the skills of a talented blacksmith and his own remote forge, what kind of characters will liven up his new, relaxing otherworld life?

Kagetora is a huge otaku, and he just wants to find a nice otaku girlfriend for himself. Somehow, he ends up having to live with Kokoro, a flashy, popular girl from school, but... why does she want to become the ideal otaku girlfriend?! They end up making a deal to help each other out, so now he'll have to write a Guide to the Perfect Otaku Girlfriend!

Finally, we'll be sending off one of our longer-running manga series, Marginal Operation, as the final volume releases just after the new year! Arata, unemployed now that his company has dissolved, applies to a military security company to avoid becoming a NEET and ends up as a private mercenary. Will this hectic, dangerous life suit him, or will he regret not embracing bumhood?

Thanks for all your support this year, and we hope members enjoy this final selection catchup titles for 2022!

@myskaros I just finished my reading of LDM 1-16 early this morning…. Now I can go back and read the weekly parts of books that I’ve skipped these last two weeks while trying to cram LDM into my reading schedule, and read LDM17.

I’m current with Bibliophile Princess, and nearly so with Blacksmith (a low- to mid-tier title for me). I’ll probably read Marginal Operation, since it’s easy to race through most manga. Not sure about another school romance series…

I will use my cheats! to say that Blacksmith is a mildly entertaining slice of life story if you ignore that the author knows nothing about blacksmithing and has a peculiar idea that turning 30 makes you a decrepit old man with two feet in the grave.

(If you value your life, do not engage in a drinking content where you must take a swig each time cheats are mentioned. Alcohol poisoning is no joke!)

@Ingraman Same, lol, though I only got to 11 of LDM myself. Thought I was going to have to pass on all of them due to time but manga is pretty quick to read, after all.

@HarmlessDave That's a hard NOPE for me, but thanks for the feedback so I could better decide.

Hey everyone! As January 1 is on a Sunday and January 2 is a US holiday, please take note that catchups will not be changing until January 3, 2023.

We hope you enjoy your holidays!

@myskaros That was just the little bump I needed to finish catching up with Blacksmith too, so thanks!

My god, everything you said is 100% true. The whole "I'm 30 so I'm a "geezer"" schtick gets old. Even the women with him are kinda like "uh, no not really." Hell, even his original age of 40 is nothing to go crazy about.

Also, the "cheats" drinking game haha... yes, that started to get old too, by the time I got caught up I was screaming at the books "Yes, we KNOW you have CHEATS! Quit friggin bringing it up every 2 minutes. You CAN use other words! Like "skills" or "talents" or... something!"

@Kilocron That 30yo geezer's real cheats are the ones that get him through combat. Since he's not supposed to have gotten any combat related abilities.

@endoftheline That actually was set up, even if only in passing back near the start of the series.

"You'll need language and crafting skills. I can also throw in some fighting skills for your self-defense. As a tradeoff, you'll have the bare minimum in magical ability, but you won't need it for day-to-day life anyway. What do you think?"
                        "Sounds good to me."

Admittedly, the actual combat skill he ended up with would seem rather disproportionate to its description...
