Ideal Sponger being translated to fast
-
Is it just me or does it seem like j novel club is in a rush to finish the translation of all current volumes out in Japan because usually after every published volume they take a short break.
-
@Elijah203223 Because they already build up quite a big chapter log. They keep translating when the publishing was stalled(vol7 or 8) as the problem was entirely on publisher side (I think?). so while it seems like they releasing without break, they actually just publishing built up chapter.

An old official comment basically confirmed what @ShimizuA was suggesting, i.e. that the issue isn't that it is currently being translated too fast but that it was being previously being published too slow.
@myskaros said in The Ideal Sponger Life Vol. 7 Discussion!:
As was stated previously, the delay was almost entirely unrelated to JNC, so we just kept working on the volume and have enough of it done in advance to stream 2 parts per week without causing any problems for staff.
This means we have no cause to speculate that JNC knows something about Ideal Sponger which we don't (or that other translation teams are currently being expected to work as hard as the Bookworm duo).

Here's a comparison for you, Ideal Sponger Life and The Great Cleric started being published at the same time (they were in the same announcement group). The Great Cleric (which followed the 1-2 week break schedule) finished a bit over a month ago at Vol. 10, which caught up with the Japanese release. Ideal Sponger Life is currently in Vol. 10 of release, so I suspect it will slow down after Vol. 11 or 12, when they catch up on the translated content.
