...
I still gotta take a look at Tanya. Book #2 is one of the most imposing LN volumes size wise I hear.
Reading Mommy Isekai. It's kind of fun to have a "Beta Testing" story for comedic purposes instead of the "fully fleshed out realistic world that has no flaws". It'd be nice if we run into glitches at some point. x)

I started "Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average".
Page 21:
"Even if it is a strange to hear a prayer from a so-called 'god' such as myself"I'm reading my physical copy aloud, and it mostly sounded good until that point.
I like this girl. I think people always have those influences in their lives that heap too much praise and expectations at you instead of challenging you or helping you become better. And it hurts on the social level to be a target of intense praise (teacher's pets). T_T
How is the god going to mess this up?
God mentioned 'nanomachines son!' but I don't really get it. Did the Nanomachines distribute the magic to the humans, and the magic halted progress because humans didn't need to invent anything once they had magic? Like, there's always an argument that if you had fire magic, humans wouldn't need to invent electric devices or gas devices as much.
I'm very interested in where they may be going with the whole "life vs entropy" battle. Can humans win out and defy the death of the universe? What can our young female lead do to halt that progress towards the end, if anything?

I just started "Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?" potential Oedipus complex fears from the title notwithstanding (a topic that would cause an automatic NOPE from me ) This turns out to be a hoot. Its a parody/ deconstruction of isekai/ transported into a game tropes, OP protagonist tropes, harem tropes, and the far to common (IMHO) weird cringe-inducing incest fetish fuel in some LNs (brocon/siscon etc)
Instead we get a single mother and her teen-aged son participating in BETA testing a MMPORG (and transported in) where to purpose of the came (according to the creators of the game) is
hilarity ensues
-
@jon-mitchell That little details in spoilers & the previously mentioned parody/deconstruction stuff sells this series to me more than all the previous stuff that's been written about it. Might have to take a closer look.

First chapter of 86 is free to read on Bookwalker right now, as well as some pre-order bonuses: https://global.bookwalker.jp/ex/feature/86-eightysix/

The death mage that doesn't want a fourth time is absolutely amazing and I couldn't recommend it enough.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Vol. 12 (DANMACHI)
latest volume is 'back on track' (I felt that some of the previous volumes wandered around a bit and didn't have the same 'flavor' that I liked in the earliest volumes)
-
picked up volume one of Rising of the Shield Hero
I liked the anime and figured I'd like to see the differences (and hoping to catch up to the anime episode 11 of 25 has recently aired) then continue w/ the web novelization thereafterI know this probably isn't best from a continuity point of view but I wanted to support the author (hence buying a LN volume)
-
-
@jon-mitchell In case you didn't know the LN and WN of Shield hero are massively different, like the 2 have really different the world building, some important character are totaly different, some don't exist in the 2 versions, some big arc don't exist in the WN, ...
Since the anime adapt the LN, depending of how much is adapt the 2 story may have totaly diverge at that point. So it's probably better to either switch to LN or start the WN from the start. -
thanks for that- I'll probably read the LN's (first) then

Finished Another World's Vampire Apocalypse from Cross Infinite.
The story is complete in one stand alone volume 330pp. It is not gruesome, but still feature zombie horde, large zombie monsters and wacky characters with one or more screws lose. Pacing was nice and never got depressingly dark. The illustrations are a bit below average but still able to draw cute girls
Recommend if you either like zombies, or looking for something light to read.
Author also wrote an afterward just for the translation.

You mean Zombie apocalypse, right? (Just making sure) - https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-04-26/cross-infinite-world-to-release-another-world-zombie-apocalypse-is-not-my-problem-light-novel/.146172
Amazon has been recommending it to me for awhile but their recommendation algorithms are terrible so I ignored it. It sounds like I might enjoy it after all.

Yes is that one, I have no idea why I wrote vampire. I liked it as I mentioned I found it light hearted even thou it has a lot of zombie action.

I read it and enjoyed it. It was fun, and not grimdark or gory at all. 180 degrees away from Highschool of the Dead.

Has anyone read The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, Vol. 1? There are no reviews on Amazon, and the sample they sent to my kindle was too short to get a sense of it.
