[Resolved ]J-Novel website not showing illustrations while reading on browser
-
Hi,
I am reading a title "Ascendence of a Bookworm" Volume 1 Part 1 on the browser(Safari, Chrome) on the J-Novel website on my Mac.
The illustrations that appear after the title cover and before the table of contents/prologue is not appearing while reading from the JNovel website. Pages 2 to 3 have illustrations and table of contents those things are missing while reading from the browser only. But when I download the same as ePub to read on any app like iBooks etc. Those illustrations show up.
They are not appearing while reading online on J-Novel website but appears when reading the e-pub file offline. -
That is intentional. Those are exclusive to the eBook release for all series.

Hello,
When it comes to parts available on the website (or the app). All "extra" content such as front matter (TOC, color inserts, etc.) is not shown in the pre-pub parts.
Those items are reserved only for the final ePub.This is not an error, rather a difference between pre-pub parts, and the final product.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you

You may wish to (re-?)read the FAQ as it explains this and more:
"What is a prepub release?
Think of them as simulcasts or streaming for light novels! For each series currently being translated, we release one part of the volume each week for Members to read on our website or using our app. These parts will generally be about 30-40 pages, but can vary from week to week. Each part consists of a roughly equal portion of the final amount of text; most of our titles are released in 8-10 parts, one per week, though longer books naturally take more time to translate and are released over more weeks.
Please keep in mind that these are prepublication releases and have not been fully proofread at the standard we have for our official ebook releases. (Although we'd like to think they're still pretty good!)
Note that the prepub versions of light novels typically only include the black-and-white illustrations found in the text. The final ebooks for both light novels and manga will include all other illustrations, such as the color illustrations usually found at the beginning of the book, character introductions, maps, and other miscellaneous illustrations."
The parts you can read are the prepubs, and illustrations are not added just because you have bought the novel.

@Rahul-Balaggan So on the website I cannot read the entire volume with all illustrations? I purchased the entire volume 1 of that book actually.
-
@Ryuen And you can download the entire book. I pull my copy (with the name tag at the end) when books are released.
However, the website reader display remains separate. If we're reading that, it's different from the "full book".

Not through the site, no. You do have the entire book though. As you noted when you download the epub it is all there.
The pre-pub parts are different from the ebook. That is why they are handled differently.
