Amazon synopsis:
Even in the fantasy world, war is ugly and gritty. Touri Noel, a medic, enlisted in the military to help support the orphanage where she was born and raised after discovering her aptitude for healing magic. However, without any magical training, Touri was assigned to the assault force on the Western Front, where the fiercest battles were taking place. Her mission was to become the personal medic for Garback, the ace soldier on the front lines, and to ensure that he never dies. However, Garback, who was known as the strongest soldier, was also a terrible commander who would leave his subordinates to die in order to achieve military success! Touri was worn out by the unreasonable orders and violence every day. But she struggled to just survive.
My own opinion: My knowledge maybe a bit wrong as I have just read the MTL translated webnovel cause I can't read Japanese but the webnovel on it's own was already really good in my opinion. The book is as is said in the synopsis basically about a young girl getting conscripted into the military which is fighting a world war 1 escque war because she can use magic (this is were similarities with Saga of Tanya the evil stop btw cause she isn't twisted but naive and she isn't OP). And the series as a whole is basically about her seeing all those battles and events unfold as the war slowly turns into an ever increasing bloodbath. Also other than Saga of Tanya the evil this series is quite generous with it's deaths

@a8er
That actually sounds somewhat interesting.
To quote Stan Freberg (incredibly out of context), "Grim visage of war." -
I have read a little of this and it was enjoyable if a little grim. I don't think I could ever binge it so reading it as a member might be the perfect way to enjoy it.

@Seandrake The world there is probably even darker then you think rn cause there is no Geneva Convention or the like. That idea to invent War crimes hasn't come yet so we can only wish luck to the civilians...
