      volume 1 cover

      Alt titles: 女装の麗人は、かく生きたり
      Author: Sean Tanaka
      Artist: Yuko
      Publisher: Sneaker Bunko (Kadokawa)
Volumes: 2 (most recently released July 2025)

      Summary:

The 29th Sneaker Award "Silver Award" Winner. The weakest boy becomes the strongest hero!

Harpies, vampires, and ogres - the only absolute certainty in this country where many spirits gather is "power". Therefore, in order to survive, you must become a fighter and show your "power".

Among the bloodthirsty fighters, a particular beauty fights in a gorgeous red dress - his name is Rio Carmine. Although he is a person with the lowest status without any ability, the results of endless training has paid off in droves. With his body and a huge military sword, he can slay the most dangerous of beings! A beauty overturns the common sense of the world!

      Comments:
I figured that we need some representation from an underutilized demographic - the crossdressing genre.

Do I know why Rio here crossdresses? Not really. Does he kill that look? Of course he does. Look, the world needs more protagonists who aren’t afraid to wear dresses and look absolutely PERFECT in them while caving in their enemies’ skulls.

        You’ve sold me on it.
