@jpwong WuxiaWorld isn't the one with a monopoly, they're actually more into KR novels these days (especially since taking on Kakao Entertainment as a majority stakeholder [if not sole owner] similar to how Kadokawa purchased a controlling share in JNC). Webnovel.com is run by Qidian, and they're the one with the majority of the good CN series (there are a few others out there, like whoever Seven Seas is acquiring the Danmei off).

@LegitPancake I could’ve sworn it was the latter. Huh.

So, I just heard that they changed their policy and remove the censorship bars. I checked the first chapter of I time traveled and confessed to my crush teacher and indeed Hiiragi chan's cleavage was visible in all its splendor. I want to believe that SquareEnix received a lot of negative feedback and decided to listen to us.

Real shame. They blame it on Canadian laws, but Seven Seas prints their manga in Canada and then sells in Canada and has dozens of manga with nude underage girls. I'm not sure why being based in Canada all of a sudden puts so many more restrictions.

Yeah, it's probably similar as to why there aren't a lot of anime that mimic Yoshitaka Amano's intricate, detailed style: you're on a tight schedule and you need to produce, so you're going to go with a style you can do quickly.

@kilocron said in Manga that the MC is not a simp or clumsy(serious type):

@pcj I wouldn't call her a simp or anything, but she mentions several times that she really enjoys all the sex, at least with decent partners.

Yeah, enjoying sex is different from pursuing romance though, especially in the industry she's working in.

Just want to note that MangaPlaza is up in pre-registration (service starts March 1), they're currently offering 72 titles and it appears it will be a monthly subscription service to the full catalogue of whatever they'll be offering once the service goes live

Submit will go away this fall, and books already on the platform will need to be re-uploaded to KDP.

And if JNC's re-uploaded releases are a guide, no updated versions for customers who already purchased them. Fun fun fun.

We also have Denpa, and Kaiten, however they also sell their manga direct on their websites, DRM-free.

(Not all of Denpa’s catalog is available as ebooks, some (like Kaiji) are only available in physical format

@jon-mitchell said in Is INKR a legit service?:

is the content similar across providers??

I've never honestly seen the content overlap between providers, so much like how the world of streaming video has segmented off into individual corporate providers much how like cable TV did, legit manga sites basically offer you titles that each company owns and you'd need to subscribe to multiple sites to get everything being offered.

If you're interested in the SJ titles Viz does though, you only need an account to stay current. I believe the first 3 chapters and the most recent 3 chapters are available with free accounts, you only need a paid subscription if you want to access chapters outside of that.

@rahul-balaggan I thought it would be good for site promotion since you guys are a part of Kadokawa now.
