@mortcs That's true, but the manga also spent ages in the first three volumes and only got out of the story's prologue after years.

One advantage to this is that the mangaka for the adaptation has more time planning on how to frame the story, unlike the anime where they're chasing a deadline, but it's also a lot slower.

With that said, the anime isn't that bad imo. Certainly not the ideal anime adaptation I had in mind, but it's not the worst adaptation I've seen.

That said, I think it would be more interesting if there were more likable male side characters. Aside from Hayate and Masato (and maybe Rui not so sure about him) all other male side characters are schemers, douchebags or totally creeps.

It's like the whole male cast (excluding antagonists) is just there to make Rio look better.

The most likely conclusion is someone threw the stone into the lake. It's a fairly common trope for sacred objects to be hidden in lakes.

@masterlillyclaw This won't exactly answer your question, but the first 3 volumes are largely the "prologue" (world building, if you will) before the "real meat" of the plot begins with volume 4.

3 will be more of what 2 had (a bit less, at least), but 4 and on will start establishing more of a consistent cast, so while Rio will probably still be super awesome, there won't be as much fawning over him.

Oh boy. That bit at the end of part 3 makes me think Reiss might reveal Rio’s real identity in the isekai to the public, as well.

That was an interesting theory that Rui raised about the Yagumo region at the end of part 4.

I realized as I was reading this that since an honorary knight is equivalent to a count in status, there shouldn’t be as much of a problem politically if Celia were to marry Rio now.

Given that Christina secretly thanked Rio for saving Flora about two thirds of the way the part seven, could the disdain she showed toward Flora in the previous volume maybe have been an act? Perhaps meant to fool Arbor’s faction?

Edit: Also, I somehow get the feeling Charlotte was in on Takahisa’s plan.

I’ve written this post a bit differently from my posts for the previous volume’s. Rather than typing up my thoughts/theories from this volume at the very end, I typed up my thoughts as I was reading, so this will be quite a bit less structured than my posts in previous volume threads.

So, when Haruto had asked his mother how Aki was doing, his mother only told him Aki was doing well. Was his mother just lying, or is that possibly a hint that Miharu decides to stay in the isekai, whereas Aki decides to return to Earth?🤔

Interesting that Satsuki can see magic essence, despite not having any training. More evidence for the Divine Arms actually containing/being spirits?

I forgot to make a prediction before the idea was brought up in this volume, but I kind of figured Duke Arbor might be colluding with Proxia Empire.

So, I’m thinking the grassland where Miharu, Aki, and Masato ended up was most likely halfway between the Galarc Castle, where Satsuki ended up, and the Centostella Castle, where Takahisa ended up. It’s definitely would make sense as a way to resolve trying to teleport them to two different places at the same time.

Wow, I really don’t like Princess Christina’s attitude towards Princess Flora in the last part. Also, Hiroaki’s making me want to reach out and strangle him even more than usual. He just keeps getting more and more insufferable.

Hmmm… Seems like the circumstances surrounding the heroes learning how to use their Divine Arms were pretty similar to how Rio learned how to use Spirit Arts, minus the “dream” part. Interesting…. Evidence of Aishia being the seventh Wise God, perhaps?

Pretty sure Reiss has Princess Sylvie’s little sister held hostage.

The way Rio confirmed to Miharu who he was before being reincarnated was pretty clever.

@sillymel It could be the other way around, with Aishia looking like Miharu due to Aishia picking that look to appeal to Haruto. I am not saying that she did it knowingly but it is a possibility.

That was clever how Liselotte decided to name her products after items from Earth in an attempt to find others that had been reincarnated from Japan like her.

Also, I called Liselotte being the high-school girl from the bus!

From part 8:

“In the not-so-distant future, Haruto will come to tell you the truth. Your chance will be then. If you want to stay by Haruto’s side, you can’t run away. Not now, and not then,” Aishia said, reaching her hand out to pet Miharu’s cheek softly.

What makes Aishia says say Haruto will come to tell Miharu the truth soon? Is it just her assessment of what he’s most likely to do (seems doubtful to me), is she planning to convince him to do so, or is there more to it than that?🤔(I don’t want an answer to that, by the way.)

Idea: What if the Divine Arms are actually spirits? Or, more likely, weapons with a powerful spirit dwelling within them?

Wow, Alphonse was a jerk and a pompous ass, but not even he deserved being turned into a Revenant.

What he Rio should have said when he encountered Lucius: “My name is Rio Karasuki. You killed my mother. Prepare to die.”

I wanted to add another theory that I’ve had for a while now (since Revenants were first introduced, I think): I bet Revenants are actually made from humans. (My first impression of them was that they were zombies.)

So, it seems like Aishia might be trying to play matchmaker between Rio and Miharu.

I also have another potential theory about Aishia, though isn’t in any way meant to replace my theory from last volume:

Gonna predict that Riess and Lucius are actually the same person. I actually was gonna predict back when I read Volume 1 that Riess was the one who killed Rio’s mother, but I forgot to do so.

I don't blame Aki for this either. She was still quite young, but honestly if Aki's mother is married to Aki's true father... Then they should have told her. If this is the case, that makes him pretty terrible too.

Now that volume 15 is over I'd like to point out some of the "salvaging" from the WN to LN and how it relates to this arc:
Flora wasn't kidnapped by Lucius in Amande... Lucius wasn't there, and Flora only passed through some time before.
Instead when she gets word that her sister's in Rodania (since she wasn't at the border fortress) she goes by herself to meet Christina leaving Hiroaki and Roana behind in Galarc.
Reiss and Lucius come to assassinate her on the airship, and Vanessa isn't there since she's still with Christina in Rodania...
But on a lark Lucius teleports her to those woods, without Reiss really caring; Lucius isn't out for revenge against Rio, having not fought him yet.
Rio finds her and rescues her from Lucius, killing him in the process.
Then they make their way back... by foot and staying in inns, not flying. And encounters our princess knight Sylvie on the road after they encountered her distraught runaway sister Estellle.
And so here we have a related change: Rio didn't fight Rui and scare off the army at the border while escorting Christina home; there was no army and Rui wasn't there.
Instead it was here while escorting Flora back that he faced Rubia's army and fought Renji.
And thus Hiroaki's bout of jealousy and challenging Rio to a duel happens after these events in the WN instead.

I find it interesting how she tore apart the 7th, 8th, and 9th arcs of the WN, taking plot points and recontextualizing them into new places in the timeline, and then rebuilt the leftovers into the last few volumes.
Anyone else have some examples they found interesting?

Between this, and all the other major differences like how Celia ends up traveling with Rio and meeting Miharu, Liselotte and Rio's first (official) meeting, how Latifa and the other spirit folk girls and Miharu don't meet 'cause they're ignored just like the Yagumo girls, the controversial happening at the party, etc... I think it was complete bullshit a shame that the Narou admins claimed that the WN and LN were the same story.
It's got more changes than a movie adaptation of a Macross series.

OTOH, that gives me hope that the anime will be a loose, mostly original adaptation.... with an original ending instead of "read the books to find out more"
