@silver-sugar-duchess Unfortunately, we are completely swamped getting things ready to go for AnimeNYC, so we just don't really have time to do hints this round :(
Since there are no hints this around I shall just have to make random guesses mwahahah:
Now all that's left to do is to await the announcements and see how wrong I turn out to be...
We both turned out so wrong... When will we finally see Sugar Apple Fairy Tale getting licensed!!!
-
Isn't it slowly time for the next (small) licensing announcement?
-
"Late winter" so perhaps soon.
-
@silver-sugar-duchess We definitely have a lot of series that we're working on that we haven't announced yet. Almost a pile up really.
When we do our next announcements it'll end up being more than just a few I think... -
@admin - the last wave was a great batch of licenses even if a few were not my cup of tea. I'm looking forward to the late winter license storm :)
-
@admin That sounds very promising. I hope there will be a few light novels I will like. Unfortunately there wasn‘t really one in the last batch.
-
@admin What I forgot to ask, will there be hints again? They are always so much fun.
-
I know I am just repeating what has already been asked, but when will be the next licensing announcement? I hope it will be very soon, I‘m literally dying for it!
I‘m still hoping that Sugar Apple Fairy Tale and Fake Cinderella will finally get licensed, this is my greatest wish!!!

You are not the only one wishing for it. I slowly don‘t care anymore if it‘s Seven Seas Entertainment or J-Novel Club (though I clearly prefer J-Novel Club), but someone please license these great novels!!! Just don‘t let it be Yen Press!
-
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale and Fake Cinderella would be my top favorite licenses too. I hope they get licensed soon! Isekai Yakkyoku would be another favorite of mine.
-
JNC has put up hints for the new licenses but it looks like nobody has noticed yet. Here you go:
- SERIES 1 HINT: Fast Demon King Immediacy
- SERIES 2 HINT: And Let There Be Dungeons
- SERIES 3 HINT: They Flee First
- SERIES 4 HINT: Black Belt Chucky
- SERIES 5 HINT: Like Sailor Moon's relationship but backwards
- SERIES 6 HINT: Facebook's Ultimate Plan
- SERIES 7 HINT: Stories of dating in Japan
-
@terabyte For series 1, I can't help but think of The Misfit of Demon King Academy, what with the way the main character / reincarnated demon king uses his magic to grow up really freakin' fast. Immediately, even.

JNS
What's that? The Japanese Novel Society?
Number 7 is definitely a Rom-Com.
Number six... Probably either a VRMMO or VRMMO Isekai. -

That's obviously what they were called in the 4Kids dub...
-
Ops, auto correct strikes again. I'm not even sure why the word JNS is coming up in it though...😅
-
@waterdweller
Couldn't agree more. -
Hints 2,3 and 6 could literally be one of a number of series, although perhaps hint 2 is something like World's Fastest Level Up. Hint 7 is definitely a romcom perhaps something like Rabudame or that series where the MC works at a dating agency. The other hints I have no idea on.
-
I can't think of a way to connect any of these to Bookworm Gaiden, so I'll just have to hope that doesn't count as a new series.
-
For hint 2, maybe they're taking over the license for Meikyuu labyrinth kingdom?
(yen has it now, but it'd fit the hint anyways) -
@windsagio Meikyuu Labyrinth Kingdom appears to only have a single volume out in Japan (released December 2019), which Yen Press has already published, so I doubt there's anything to take over.
