Cannot access Members Only - Honzuki
-
Can I get some advice from either admins or mods on how so I can access the forums for Honzuki in Premium
members only. Do I need to get a higher tier subscription? -
We have had some issues with the forum lately for unknown reasons. We're upgrading our forum software tonight in hopes that it resolves a lot of these issues, otherwise we're already aware of this happening and working on figuring out how to fix it.

@myskaros Understood. I appreciate the prompt response.
-
@Anne-Penullar-Vill-77ryh3z-0 It's also necessary to have a paid subscription to access most (all?) volume discussions in the forum.
-
@Thecardq Not right now; we disabled membership requirements for the forums a couple weeks ago, but it hasn't helped since lots of users still cannot access those forums for whatever reason :/

As a workaround for various problems, they'd made all forum topics accessible no matter your membership level; there was a recent post concerning that.
So not being able to access any section of the forums currently means something is wrong.

@myskaros I didn't know that, thanks. I should probably pay a bit more attention to the news on this forum considering how much time I spend here.

My recommendation:
-
Enable this setting for notifications
-
Follow myskaros, Sam Pinansky, hirei, and Rahul Balaggan.
Click this button on their profile pages to "follow" them:
This will make sure you get notified about any important news.
Following lovelight, morgenstern, and yuzumori should be enough to make sure you are notified when new LN volume threads are posted.
Following exedore, Roro_, and Philip Reuben should be enough to make sure you are notified when new manga volume threads are posted.

-
@piisfun Unfortunately enabling email notifications won't change much right now... They're broken since the last forum upgrade some months ago.
-
@Terabyte
Yeah.Me, I'd say the solution is what I do; read everything.
-
@Terabyte True, but the in-forum notifications are enough for now.
I just can't be quite as lazy about checking them as I used to be. -
@myskaros Pardon me asking again. I am still unable to read the Honzuki forum. I am able to see the topics though. I have the according to my membership plan, I have the "regular" subscription. Do I need the higher tier to read the forums? Thank you for your advice.
-
@Anne-Penullar-Vill-77ryh3z-0 There is some kind of problem with the forums right now. Currently, all of the subforums, including the Bookworm subforum, should be available to any users, including non-subscribers, so the fact that you can't access it is baffling us. We're looking into it but if last night's update didn't fix it, then we have no idea what's going on and will need time to figure it out.
-
@myskaros Understood, so the error I am getting is this whenever I open any of the topics inside of the categories under :
Access Denied You seem to have stumbled upon a page that you do not have access to.
In the "Members Only" -- I am only able to read all the topics inside each forum category of https://forums.j-novel.club/category/7/premium-members-only and https://forums.j-novel.club/category/26/prepub-corrections -- all the rest of the categories parse a the access denied error above.
This might help with debugging on your end. Sorry if overstepping. Thank you so much again for the prompt response. I really am just curious of the next release of honzuki in any which case. I'll check again tomorrow if there is any progress regarding my request.
-
@Anne-Penullar-Vill-77ryh3z-0 Ack. Dumb/easy solution: we simply screwed up the permissions on the forum admin panel. You should now have access to the Bookworm subforum topics now. Sorry about that!
-
@myskaros I was finally able to access member's only page but I'm not able to post nor reply to any post on there, is it an issue with permission?
-
@Khanh-Pham-m0kza88-0 Try again now!
-
@myskaros Unfortunately I'm still not able to comment or post. I tried to upvote a comment and I got "You don't have enough privilege to do this action."
-
@Khanh-Pham-m0kza88-0 Can you try again? I just made another small change to the forum privileges.
-
@myskaros All working now. Thank you!
