I suggested a series by the same author before—Shinonome Yuuko Series.

Author: Bingo Morihashi (Contributed a lot for Devil May Cry 3 and 4 then left Capcom, He created Nero and wrote the script for Devil May Cry 3.)

Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2017 - #10 (Light Novel)
Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2015 - #9

      Publisher: Famitsu Bunko (Enterbrain)
      Status: Complete - 6 volumes
      LNDB

      Synopsis:

Shirou Matsunaga has been subject to irrationally cruel treatment by his treacherous three sisters. Seeking an escape from this hellish existence, he enrolls in a boarding high school.
There, he meets Mirai Oda, his new roommate. Mirai, suffering from gender identity disorder, has the body of a woman, but the soul of a man. Mirai had investigated Shirou's circumstances beforehand, and in order to secure his own safe co-existence, chose him as his roommate.
Shirou tries to make the best of this situation, but as the two of them spend more time together, he finds himself unable to avoid becoming attracted to Mirai...

Well, I know that stories featuring LGBT might be more of a Seven Seas' thing, but—giving it a shot hurts no one.

Well, I guess it's not exactly a title we can see any time soon in English tho (especially, on JNC).
LGBT Romance ain't exactly the most popular thing here, moreover—it's about loving a person who can't love you back so, it's not exactly the most upbeat or happy series out there. (That's one of the reasons why it didn't sell much in Japan even though, it was highly praised , made "Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!", and had very die-hard fans—it wasn't the best match for Light Novel readers. That's why the author stopped writing LN after that and only focused on manga and games.)

I'd personally like L + B LN and wouldn't mind some T stuff (still reading through "The Bride Was a Boy"). I wouldn't mind something with a lot of different ships too (LGBT and straight relationships together for multiple characters in the cast; maybe like a Crossing Time style Light Novel?).

There aren't a heck of a lot of LGBT novels overall though, and the few handful that look like it are actually "a guy dressed as a gal / transformed into a gal attracts other gals" stories.

The good thing: Most of the LGBT type series aren't insanely long, so not too risky of a commitment novel wise... Except Maria-sama.

Well, we both might not mind it, but we don't have many people who are as enthusiastic.

I think I should be proud that most of my suggestions only get few votes lol
(Is it cuz it's mainly romance or drama?)

After seeing the enthusiasm here, I think only Seven Seas, which already has established LGBT audience, is the only publisher that might actually publish something like this.

Whoever takes the chance on LGBT first will pretty much be alone in that space in LN circles. Probably something that could be targeted at people that aren't on this site yet.

Don't know which work they'd target though.

Here's an English site that has a few Yuri LNs highlighted (Seven Seas of course recommended it):

It's not like there ain't any English LGBT LNs.
Seven Seas has re-released their Yuri title digitally.
Some BL publishers have published BL LNs too.

Also, I think ALC Publishing already died.
So, I hope that Seven Seas takes over their titles.

Ah, I missed those. Not my scene, but I should probably look into them just to know what they are.

I remembered Strawberry Panic as I was posting, but it's still the only LGBT LN so far by Seven Seas, right? I don't know what Monster Girl Doctor is (got it on the shelf).

Is there any Yuri in Sound Eupho? Actually, don't tell me in case it gets picked up for more volumes. =P

Don't know about euphonium (Heard that anime got some teasing but haven't watched it myself)

Well, Strawberry Panic is re-release like Boogiepop—so, they might do more Yuri LNs (or even print it again), if it does well.

Well, I learned of ALC when I was searching for Yuru Yuri.
                            The affiliated con—Yuricon—is also dead.

Didn’t see this before - sounds interesting for sure. I always feel it’s a good sign when something gets translated in another country - makes it more likely we will see it in English.

@the-green-death Does it make it more likely? Lots of titles like the Garden of Sinners, Fate/Zero, and Gamers are licensed in western languages, but no sign of an English localization has been seen for any of them.

@legitpancake Ah I didn’t realize that (I feel Japanese lit tends to have the same stuff translated across western languages, but didn’t really know for LNs)- I was probably being more hopeful than realistic!

There is another side to this, I feel like I mention it somewhere before...maybe on twitter, but Young Novel imprint that licensed this one and Three Days of Happiness seems to target not anime fans and LN readers but teens in general, their altered cliche YA covers shows that even more.
