Announcements coming June 5 on Twitch!

@saskir I was hoping that was more due to the fan translation being weird and that it somehow made sense.
-
Chances are, anything that's part of this licensing batch will have parts go up within a week or two of the announcement (like with last time). Given that, I highly doubt the book clue is for part 2 of the Bookworm manga, since we're still a ways away from finishing part 1. It might be one of the Bookworm anthology manga, though...
...but y'all do know that there are other series about books, right? Even if we just limit it to manga adaptations of JNC LNs, that still leaves the very big possibility of the Bibliophile Princess manga.

Manga
1: This one is obvioulsy the continuation of the "Book Worm" manga. The second arc is it's own manga so if I and many others are wrong I will be surprised.I don't really see what the point would be in starting the Part 2 manga in June.
The Part 1 manga only has two volumes left and they'd be starting Part 2 naturally later in the year anyway (if you insist they announce it at a licensing event instead of just starting it then there would surely be another one before then in October/November - the last one was only in mid-April after-all). They wouldn't be able to capitalise on the anime bump because it'll take ages for volume 1 to get out and the anime is already ahead of the raws. It'll also take so long to catch up to the raws that whether they started it in June or in October/November really doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things.
If it is Bookworm then I think it makes more sense to be the Part 3 manga than the Part 2 manga (because it'd take 4+ years to reach it naturally and we just finished the Part 2 LN), but even then I think it's much more sensible for it to be the Bibliophile Princess manga. It'd be funny announcing Part 3 on the livestream "So we're licensing the Bookworm Part 3 manga but... we're not showing you the cover or description here because it's big spoilers to anyone not up-to-date with the pre-pubs as the eBook doesn't come out for another three weeks". -

Hey J-Novel Clubbers!
We're doing another announcement stream on June 5 at noon Pacific time, which you'll be able to watch at https://twitch.tv/jnovelclub! We have 5 series to announce this time, and you can find hints for them at https://j-novel.club/announcements! The first hint is available now, and more hints will be revealed next Friday, May 29!
Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!
So i got all caught up with Ascendance of a Bookworm and i know that there are 22 volumes but it looks like J Novel will quit after vol 4? Will they continue on with the series?
-
Yes,
For members new to J-Novel Club:
After a volume releases its last part there is typically a 2-3 week break* before the following volume releases its first part. For this series in particular (Bookworm) they are attempting to do it with no break. Please note that does not automatically mean it will be out the following week after the last part finishes.
For all those wondering why it is not in the schedule yet, the schedule is updated after the first part of a new volume is released, usually it won’t show part 1 of a new volume until the day of release. So when they are ready with part 1 and the English cover has been set they just plop part 1 into the schedule the same day of release.
So the best thing to do is be patient, part 1 of the following volume will start when it is ready and no sooner.
*the 2-3 week break is not a hard rule, it is just an observation based on the history of JNC prepub releases.
Edit: so please do not worry if you don’t see it in the schedule, when it is ready to go live it will be added.

@Rahul-Balaggan thanks patience isn't my strong suit but good things are worth waiting for

New hints are up.
Manga 1 is suggesting Bookworm so strongly it feels like misdirection.
Manga 2 looks like Marielle Clarac now that they've added the riding crop (and Marielle is a "fangirl"). -
I know the first manga hint looks like it's obviously Bookworm at first glance, but putting aside how that might be too obvious or that it's more of a caterpillar than a worm or that it's a bit too soon to be licensing part 2/3 when we're not done with part 1 yet...
It seems like manga hint #1 is most likely Bibliophile Princess. The Japanese title of Bibliophile Princess is "虫かぶり姫" (Mushikaburi-hime), with the first kanji being the kanji for "bug", so the bug is very likely a reference to that (while also being a huge red herring for anyone who thinks Bookworm is the only book-related series out there).
And yeah, manga hint #2 is most likely Marielle Clarac.

Now I've got the impression, that the third light novel license might be a J-Novel Club Heart title. But I can't figure it out. Same with the others. Any ideas?
-
Novel 1 hint 2 is apparently a Resident Evil reference.
The Novel 2 hints still sound dirty but was pointed out that they could also refer to a monster tamer. 1 would be slime, 2 is a golem or something similar.
The Novel 3 hints make me think of The Little Prince, a famous French children's book. Hint 2 seems like a reference to the line "One sees clearly only with the heart." -
Manga hint 2 is the book with a worm on top of it. I wonder what that could be pointing towards...
-
Novel 2 could be Hero of God Eye... maybe?
Hint 1: Moist, soft, slippery = his God Eye
Hint 2: Hard, stiff, wooden = his weapon of choice, the logIt's from Futabasha, same publisher as Demon Lord, Retry! and Deathbound Duke's Daughter.

Interesting. I hope you're actually right.
As for manga, the first one may be Bibliophile Princess but the second one must be Marielle Clarac. That riding crop is (possibly?) a dead giveaway 😂

When will the last hints get updated?

I swear to the Five Gods I remember reading about there being a Bookworm side series, centered on Lutz... might be mistaken about that though, given I can't seem to find mention of it anywhere online...
-
Can I expect Part 1 of new series within a week after the announcement? Thank you.

It depends, but for the last round of announcements, the first parts were on the side pretty much immediately
-
@saffire If you say these hints make you think of The little Prince, maybe it could mean The Reincarnated Prince light novel series.^^
