If by 'web novel' one means books published for free on the web in installments, ala Narou, but not necessarily falling within any specific genre...

For English original web fiction I'd recommend various of Fel's works (search for 'Sennadar forums' to find his site) for stuff that falls more toward what shows up at Narou and such. The forums there also have a topic with the title something like 'links to good reading' which has some surprisingly good suggestions.

Wes Boyd (not the 'Move on' guy) wrote a series of interconnected novels set in a slightly fictionalized late 20th century Michigan, with forays elsewhere in the US. (Search for 'Spearfish Lake Tales'.)
He died several years back, but his family has cooperated with his fans to keep his site active, and to finish posting those works he had far enough along that he had them listed as 'OK to have his editors finish them up in the case of his death'.

Would be great if the publisher would get vol 10 out but that probably won't happen.

@terabyte I forgot to reply to the later part of your comment. Yeah I know the web novel is a little different. Another change is that in the WN, Lycia's encounter with the demon comes a little later. However, aside from that and the stuff about Gown, I find the LN follows the WN pretty closely. So, while I have to wait months and months for the next volumes of the LN, I can satiate myself a bit.

Web Novel is different from the Light Novel.

Changes had been made going from WN to LN.

For example, , vol 9-10 are LN original and doesn't exist in the WN.

I read on another topic that JNC doesn't translate WN but only LN (at least for now), so I wasn't sure what it meant.

Which then would make more sense to buy them individually. 5 books for 5 each makes 25. So 35 would be a markup.

Anyway, on my nth read of this I just realized that the timeline between Paul pov and Simeon pov are a bit wonky. After the city chase, it's 2 days until Paul meet Marielle again, then after that Paul went to get Milene's approval to publish, and do a whole lot of things until the book is ready to sell. It probably would take weeks. I don't believe it took that long for Poisson to meet Simeon again and laugh at him about the "mission", lol.

Love what a good kid Marielle is. This prequel is reinforcing that her self-deprecation isn't how people would see her objectively though. From the pov of a commoner, she still counts as rich and privileged. And her grandfather being the chancellor in a university where Simeon's father probably works at means her social connection to the Flauberts is not as distant as she thought.

@Florence-Carsula - I realize this is a really old post, but it intrigued me. Does 'love triangle' mean any arrangement of three (or more) people?

I'm playing around with writing a new web novel using this technology. Trying to find the best way to use the tool is pretty interesting. Translating a post to Japanese is taking about 3 hours right now... but that is mostly me searching for optimal translation rather than dumping it in and just posting whatever comes out.

I've read the WN up to ch 17 which got a little difficult (weird) to read. I've been reading the LN and am currently in the middle of vol 9. I prefer how the MC meets with Zena in the WN, but the LN version is ok. As for Sera, either one works for me since the main parts of the arc are pretty similar. Can't wait until they get to labyrinth city. I can appreciate the differences between the WN and LN. The are similar, but different enough that I don't get too bored reading both.
